Stairlift tracks fall into two basic categories: straight and curved; it can be a little confusing to know which type you need for your staircase. Straight stairlift tracks can only travel in straight lines, they cannot turn a corner or go around a bend.
Safety as standard Easy to use All Handicare stairlifts have safety sensors on the power pack and footrest; these are designed to stop the lift if it meets any obstruction. Once stopped it can only be moved in the opposite direction of the obstruction. All Handicare stairlifts are operated by pressing or holding the large, robust toggle switch in the direction of travel.
The Simplicity Series The Simplicity Series track offers a continuous charge function meaning that the lift can be parked on any part of the track when it is not in use. This means you do not need to worry about where you leave your lift on the track as the batteries will charge in any position.
Handicare 1000 Outdoor stairlift For those looking for minimal track intrusion into the staircase, the Handicare 1000 offers one of the slimmest straight stairlift tracks on the market. Available in a choice of six upholstery colors, it can be supplied with optional powered features to fold the footrest and to swivel the seat at the top of the staircase to allow for ease of exit. It is not only stairs inside the home that cause problems for some people.
Comfort features Do you need a hinged track? Powered swivel When you arrive at the top of the stairs you can swivel your seat around so that you exit onto the landing safely. If you choose the powered swivel option (available on the Simplicity+, 1000 and 1000 XL only) the swivel is operated by continuing to hold the toggle when you arrive at the top of the staircase. The seat will move automatically.
