peripherals.Alltransmissionstakeplaceastelegramswithdatasentences.Each
telegramhasadenedformatandlength.
TheNMEA0183standardisthemostcommonprotocolusedtoreceiveandtransmitdata
toandfromperipheralsensors.AparametricsentencestructureisusedforallNMEA
data.Thesentencestartwitha“$”delimiter,andrepresentthemajorityofapproved
sentencesdenedbythestandard.Thissentencestructure,withdelimitedanddened
datales,isthepreferredmethodforconveyinginformation.
