Thisprocedureexplainshowtoinstallafrequencychannel.
Eachtransceivercontainsoneormorefrequencychannels
.
Thisphraseisusedtoidentifythecombinationofatransceiver,transducersandthe
frequenciesoffered.Splitbeamtransceiverscontainonlyonechanneleach.
TheupperpartoftheTransceiverInstallationdialogdisplaysalistoffrequencychannels
whicheitherare,orhavebeen,installedontheEK60.Foreachchannelonthelist,
acolourcodedtextisprovided.
ThefollowingstatusvaluesareavailableintheTransceiverInstallationdialog.
•Entriesshowninblackaredetectedfrequencychannelswhicharenotinstalled,but
availableforinstallation.
•Entriesshowningreenaredetectedfrequencychannels,whicharebothdetected
andinstalled.
•Entriesshowninbluearedetectedfrequencychannelswhichareinstalledbyanother
echosounderprogram,andthusnotavailableforthisapplication.
•Entriesshowninredarefrequencychannelswhichhavepreviouslybeeninstalled,
butarenolongeravailable.
Procedure
1ClickInstall→Transceiver.
2ObservethattheTransceiverInstallationdialogopens
ThepurposeoftheTransceiverInstallationdialogistosetupthenecessary
parameterstoconnecttheEK60computertothetransceiver(s)andthetransducer(s).

3IntheTransceiverInstallationdialog,clickBrowse.
TheEK60willautomaticallysearchthenetworkfortransceivers.
4Observethatallthefrequencychannelsarelistedinthedialog.
5Selectafrequencychannelthatisavailable,andchoosethecorrecttransducerin
thespinbox.
Note
Thisisacriticaltask.Youmustensurethatthecorrecttransducerisselected.If
youconnectthetransceivertoatransducerthatcannothandlethepowerrating,it
maybedamagedbeyondrepair .
6ClickOKtosavethecurrentsettingsandclosethedialog.
7Restarttheechosounder.
