Transceiverinstallationprocedures

Usethefollowingprocedurestoinstall,modifyordeletefrequencychannelsfromthe

echosoundersetup.

GeneralPurposeTransceivers(GPT)physicallyconnectedtotheechosounder'sEthernet

interfaceareidentiedautomaticallybythesystem.WhenyouopentheTransceiver

InstallationdialogfromtheInstallmenu,alistwillbeprovided.Asinglefrequency

transceiveroccupiesoneentryinthelist,andadualfrequencytransceiveroccupiestwo.

Eachentryisidentiedasafrequencychannel,andthelinedisplaystheparameters

forthechannel.Entriesinthefrequencychannellistareshowninblack,greenorred

colouridentifyingitscurrentstatus.

Installingafrequencychannel

Thisprocedureexplainshowtoinstallafrequencychannel.

Eachtransceivercontainsoneormorefrequencychannels

Thisphraseisusedtoidentifythecombinationofatransceiver,transducersandthe

frequenciesoffered.Splitbeamtransceiverscontainonlyonechanneleach.

TheupperpartoftheTransceiverInstallationdialogdisplaysalistoffrequencychannels

whicheitherare,orhavebeen,installedontheEK60.Foreachchannelonthelist,

acolourcodedtextisprovided.

ThefollowingstatusvaluesareavailableintheTransceiverInstallationdialog.

•Entriesshowninblackaredetectedfrequencychannelswhicharenotinstalled,but

availableforinstallation.

•Entriesshowningreenaredetectedfrequencychannels,whicharebothdetected

andinstalled.

•Entriesshowninbluearedetectedfrequencychannelswhichareinstalledbyanother

echosounderprogram,andthusnotavailableforthisapplication.

•Entriesshowninredarefrequencychannelswhichhavepreviouslybeeninstalled,

butarenolongeravailable.
