Updatingtransducerparameters
Whenyouaresatisedwiththecalibrationresultsyoucanusetheresultstoupdateyour
transducerparametersintheechosounder.
1IntheCalibrationwindow,clickFile→UpdateBeamDatatoperformthistask.
Note
Thisisaseriousoperation,whichwillaffectthetransducerinstallationparameters
andwillthusaffectallfutureresultstobeobtainedusingthecurrenttransducer
andpulseduration.Thus,topreventaccidentallyuseofthisoperation,youare
askedtoconrmthisoperation.
Thechangestakeeffectautomaticallythenexttimeyoustartnormaloperationson
theechosounder.
Previouslyrecordeddata
TheCalibrationprogramalsoallowsyoutoworkwithpreviouslyrecordedcalibration
data.
IfyouhaveusedtheEK60torecordrawdatafromapreviouscalibrationsessionyou
mayoperatetheEK60inreplaymodeandperformthedescribedcalibrationprocedure
asiftheEK60wasoperatinginNormalmode.WhenoperatinginReplaymodeyoucan
setthepingratetomaximumsincethiswillnotaffectthedataquality.
Ofinecalibration
Thecalibrationprogrammayberunoff-linewithoutanoperationalEK60.Tostartit,
locatethelecalibration.exe.Ifyouhaveperformedastandardinstallation,thisle
isnormallyfoundinthefollowingpath:
c:\programfiles\simrad\scientific\ek60
\bin\calibration.exe
Ifyouhaveacalibrationlepreviouslygeneratedbythecalibrationprogram,youcan
importtheleinthecalibrationprogram.
1IntheCalibrationwindow,clickFile→Open.
2Selecttheleyouwouldliketoimport,andclickOk.
3Examineandeditthepreviouslyrecordedcalibrationdata.
Editeddatamaybesavedandyoucanupdatethetransducerparametersusingthe
importedoreditedcalibrationdata.Thisalsoenablesyoutousedifferentcalibration
lesfromdifferentenvironmentalconditions.
