Before use 3. Instructions to the Machine Please follow the instructions below as well as the Guidelines for Safety Use provided when shipping the Product. Installing the Machine Caution Risk of Injury - Install the Machine in a well-ventilated space. Ozone will be generated in the Machine use. The ozone is not detrimental, but proper ventilation must be necessary if the Machine is used for a long time or printing in batch is made in not well-ventilated space.
Before use Moving the Machine Warning - Before moving the Machine, pull the power cord out of the socket and check that the cord is removed from the Machine. At least two persons should move the Machine. - W hen moving the Machine, remove the toner unit. - B end your knees enough when lifting the Machine up, to prevent damage to the spine.
Before use Consumables Handling Warning - Do not burn the toner unit or PCU. If the toner is remaining, it may be a cause of big fire or burn by ignition. Caution - Do not force the toner bottle or other consumables open. Do not breathe in or touch the leaked toner powder. Keep them out of the reach of children. When touched to the toner by skin, wash it with running water and soap. When irritated to the skin, see a doctor.
Before use Instructions for Use Caution - It is very hot in and around the Fusing Unit in the Machine during operation. When removing jammed paper or viewing the Machine inside, avoid hands not being touched to around the Fusing Unit. It may cause a burn. - When removing jammed paper or replacing the toner unit, avoid the toner powder being entered in the eye or mouth. If entered in the eye or mouth, wash it with clean water immediately and then see a doctor.
Before use Discarding the used battery Lithium Battery is contained the Control Board inside. Discard the used battery in the environmentally-friendly way according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. To replace the battery, call your service engineer.

Before use Total Energy Use It would be useful to calculate total energy use of the product. To calculate energy use, multiply the power consumption by the hours consumed in each mode by the produc, as the electricity is billed per Watt (W). Total energy use is the sum of energy use in each mode. Dewing If there is sharp change at ambient temperature, fine water drops may form in the inside and outside of the Machine.
Before use Notice of Laser This machine is certified in the U.S. to conform to the requirements of DHHS21 CFR Subchapter J for Class 1 laser products, and elsewhere is certified as a Class 1 laser product conforming to the requirements of IEC 60825-1:2007. Class 1 laser products are not considered to be hazardous. This machine uses two AIGaAs laser diodes with a wave length of 775~800nm and an output of 15mW.

Preparation for Using the Machine 11. Paper Loading Paper Tray Opening To load paper in the Paper Tray or remove paper jam, push the back lever of right knob in the Paper Tray. Then, the door lock is released and you can pull and open the Paper Tray: Instructions for Paper Loading Caution - Pay attention to a cut in the hand by the edge of Paper. - Bent papers should be loaded after smoothing the papers out and arranging them well.
Preparation for Using the Machine - Fit to the Paper Guide so that no gap can be made between the edge of the loaded paper and the Paper Guide. If the Paper Guide does not fit to the paper size, Paper Misfeed may occur. 1 - To add the paper to the remaining paper in the Paper Tray, take out the remaining paper and add it to new paper and then load them together. Note - Do not load papers with different sizes together.

Preparation for Using the Machine 1 Paper Loading onto Bypass Tray Bypass Tray can be used for printing on the paper with the size out of the paper tray, custom size paper, postcard, or envelope. Paper Loading 1 Open the Bypass Tray on the right of the Machine. 2 Lift Paper Push Lever (①)up and widen the Paper Guide (②): 3 Hold the copying side of paper down and push the paper until the top edge or the paper will be reached to the Paper Tray.

Envelope Loading Set the printing side of Envelope down to the Bypass Tray and then proceed with the Step 4 ~ 5 (see the“Paper Loading” , Step 1 ~ 2 ).
Preparation for Using the Machine 1 Important - Set the printing side of postcard/envelope down on the Bypass Tray: - In envelope printing, set it vertically and also set the printing side without pasting up (Hold the envelope as shown in the previous page.). - Some types of envelope may be wrongly loaded onto the Tray or crumpled. In such case, pull the green lever in the fuse unit down. - The print quality of envelope depends on the quality of the envelop paper.

Printer Features 1. Install the Driver Installing TWAIN or Printer Driver in the PC allows the Machine to be used for a printer or a scanner. And, the scanned images can be stored directly or the stored files can be output by inserting USB mobile memory into the MFP. Install the Driver Printer/Scanner Driver is the Software (S/W) to make the PC and the MFP communicated with. Typically, Printer/Scanner S/W is installed during the initial setup of the MFP.

Interleaves should have the same paper size as the printing job. interleaves cannot be used together with Rotation Sort, Duplex, Poster Print, Finisher, or Staple.
Printer Features - Margins: Min. Margins Setting can be modified. To user the basic margin of the printer, it can be set up to Printer Margins; to use the margin of the user only, it can be set up to User Setting Margin. The User Setting Margin should not be smaller than the basic margin of the printer. If Pages per Sheet is set to 2-Booklet on the Paper Tab, User Setting Margins. Cannot be set up. File box is deleted in deleting the user, and the file box name can be changed using Edit User. Stored file is deleted automatically every 3 days by default setting. Web Monitor 1. Web Monitor Running the Web Monitor, and the areas displayed in the Web browser are described in this Paragraph. Machine Configuration To run the features in the Web Monitor, TCP/IP is needed. Job can be made on the Web Monitor after setting up the Machine to use the TCP/IP.
Web Monitor 1. Menu Selecting Menu allows the content to be displayed in the job area or sub area. 2. Tab Details of each menu are displayed. 3. Header It can convert to the screen to switch to User Mode and Administrator Mode. 4. Display The content of the item selected in Menu is displayed on the screen. Maintenance and Troubleshooting 1. Replace the Consumables When it is about time to replace the consumables, a message of“Replace the the toner / the PCU” is shown on the LCD. It the message appears, please replace the consumables specified in the message. Toner Unit When a message of“No toner: replace the toner”is shown since the toner used up, replace the toner. For Toner Unit replacement, see P. 9-3「Replace the Toner Unit」 .
Maintenance and Troubleshooting Replace the Toner Unit When the toner almost uses up, a message of“low toner”is shown on the LCD. Even if the Machine may continue to use, please replace it with a new toner unit as soon as possible. If a message of“No toner: replace the toner”is show on the LCD, printing cannot be made any more since the toner used up. Replace it with a new toner unit. Replacement method Important - Before installing the new toner unit, shake it 5 ~10 times.

Shake the new toner unit side to side 5~10 times gently in the state that the Red Safety Pin is Up so that the toner can be distributed evenly: Caution - Installing the toner unit without shaking may not distribute the toner evenly.

Replace it with a new PCU. Important - Keep the used-up PCU in the package box since it will be collected by your Service Center.

If something sticks to the Original Feed Belt, Feed Roller, or Separation Roller, the Original may be jammed. Clean the Original Feed belt, Feed Roller, and Separation Roller regularly. Dip a soft cloth in water, and then wring it out and wipe the sections off carefully. After that, wipe them off again with a clean and dry cloth.
