BUTTONHOLES

CUTTING SPACE
BAR TACKS AND
SIDE STITCHING
The length of cutting space, the opening through which the button passes, is
measured by the width and thickness of the button.
The length of the finished buttonhole will be the cutting space plus Vs inch
for bar tacks.
Work a sample buttonhole in the same fabric as the garment. Use a double fold,
duplicating a facing, and include interfacing if this has been used.
