Problem Cause Remedy
Trimmer head will
not advance line.
1. The motor shaft or
trimmer head is bound
with grass.
1. Stop the trimmer, remove the battery,
and clean the motor shaft and trimmer
head.
2. There is not enough line
in the trimmer head or
the line breaks from the
eyelet.
2. Remove the battery and replace the
cutting line follow
“Line Replacement”
section in this manual.
3. The line is tangled in the
trimmer head.
3. Remove the battery; remove the line
from the trimmer head and rewind
following
“Line Replacement”
section
in this manual.
4. The line is too short. 4. Remove the battery and pull the lines
manually while alternately pressing
down and releasing the trimmer head.
Grass wraps
around trimmer
head and motor
housing.
1. Cutting tall grass at
ground level.
1. Cut tall grass from the top down, don’t
remove grass too long each pass to
prevent wrapping.
The blade is not
cutting the line.
1. The line-cutting blade on
the edge of the guard has
become dull.
1. Sharpen the line-cutting blade with a
le or replace it with a new blade.
Cracks on the
trimmer head or
the spool assembly
comes loose.
1. The trimmer head is worn
out.
1. Replace the trimmer head
immediately following
“Trimmer Head
Replacement"
section in this manual.
2. The nut that locks the
trimmer head is loose.
2. Open the trimmer head and use an
impact wrench (14 mm) to tighten the
nut.
