Additional Safety Instructions for Circular Saws Cutting procedures Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade. Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece. Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth should be visible below the workpiece.
Lower guard function Check the lower guard for proper closing before each use. Do not operate the saw if the lower guard does not move freely and close instantly. Never clamp or tie the lower guard into the open position. If the saw is accidentally dropped, the lower guard may be bent. Raise the lower guard with the retracting handle and make sure it moves freely and does not touch the blade or any other part, in all angles and depths of cut. Check the operation of the lower guard spring.

DEPTH ADJUSTMENT (FIG. 3) Fig. 3 Remove the battery pack from the circular saw. Loosen the depth-adjustment lever located between the guard and handle of saw. Hold the foot down with one hand and use the handle to raise or lower the saw. Align the bottom contour of depth-adjustment lever with the desired depth-cut mark on the calibrated depth bracket and tighten the lever. Check desired depth (Fig. 1).
LINE GUIDE (FIG. 6) For a 0° cut, use the large notch in the foot for guidance . For 45° bevel cuts, use the small notch (Fig. 6). The cutting guide notch will indicate an approximate line of cut. Make sample cuts in scrap lumber to verify the actual line of cut. This will be helpful because of the number of different blade types and thicknesses available. To ensure minimum splintering on the good side of the material to be cut, face the good side down.
Note: The wrench needs to be inserted with the correct orientation (Fig. 8). Damage to the work piece could occur if inserted incorrectly. Fig. 8 Correct Incorrect CONNECTING TO VACUUM CLEANER (FIG. 9) Mount the vacuum hose adapter onto the dust port, located on the outer end of the auxiliary handle. Tighten the wing nut on the adapter to secure it in place. The vacuum hose adapter allows you to connect 1-7/8”, 2-1/2”, and 3.5 cm.
SWITCH (FIG. 11) starting the tool, WARNING When hold it with both hands. The torque from the motor can cause the tool to twist. To turn tool “ON”, press and hold the lockoff button with your thumb, then squeeze the trigger switch with your finger. Release the lock-off button and continue to squeeze the trigger for continued operation. PLUNGE CUTS (FIG. 12) Remove the battery pack from the circular saw before making adjustments. Set the depth adjustment according to the thickness of the material to be cut. Attach the battery pack. Hold the main handle of the saw with one hand, tilt the saw forward, and rest the front of the foot plate on the material to be cut. Line up the cutting-guide notch with the line you’ve drawn. Use the lower-guard lift lever to raise the lower guard and hold the front of the foot plate with the other hand (Fig.
RIP CUTS (FIG. 14) Fig. 14 The combination blade provided with your saw is for both cross cuts and rip cuts. Ripping is cutting lengthwise with the grain of the wood. Rip cuts are easy to do with a rip fence (Fig. 14). Rip Fence is available as an accessory (not included). RÉGLAGE DE LA PROFONDEUR (FIG. 3) Retirez le bloc-piles de la scie circulaire. Desserrez le levier de réglage de la profondeur situé entre le protecteur et la poignée de la scie. Maintenez la semelle en place avec une main et soulevez ou abaissez la scie par la poignée. Alignez le bas de la vis du levier de réglage de la profondeur sur l’indicateur de profondeur de coupe désiré du guide de profondeur gradué et serrez le levier. Vérifiez la profondeur désirée (Fig. 1).
GUIDE DE COUPE (FIG. 6) Fig. 6 Pour effectuer une coupe à un angle de 0°, utilisez la grande encoche sur la semelle. Pour effectuer une coupe en biseau à un angle de 45°, utilisez la petite encoche (Fig. 6). L’encoche du guide de coupe Semelle indique la ligne de coupe approximative. Effectuez des coupes d’essai dans une retaille de bois d’œuvre pour déterminer la ligne de coupe réelle. Procéder de la sorte vous sera utile, car vous pouvez utiliser plusieurs types et épaisseurs de lames.

Serrez l’écrou à oreilles sur l’adaptateur pour le fixer en place.
GÂCHETTE (FIG. 11) Lorsque vous mettez la scie en marche, tenez-la avec vos deux mains. Le couple du moteur peut faire tourner l’outil. Pour mettre l’outil en marche, maintenez le bouton de verrouillage enfoncé à l’aide de votre pouce, puis serrez la gâchette à l’aide de votre doigt. Relâchez le bouton de verrouillage et gardez la gâchette enfoncée pour utiliser l’outil de façon continue.
COUPES EN PLONGÉE (FIG. 12) Retirez le bloc-piles de la scie circulaire avant d’effectuer des réglages. Réglez la profondeur de coupe en fonction du matériau à couper. Fixez le blocpiles. Tenez la poignée principale de la scie avec une main, inclinez la scie vers l’avant, puis posez l’avant de la semelle sur le matériau à couper. Alignez l’encoche du guide de coupe sur la ligne que vous avez tracée.
COUPES LONGITUDINALES (FIG. 14) Fig. 14 La lame combinée fournie avec votre scie sert à la fois à faire des coupes transversales et longitudinales. Le sciage en long signifie que la coupe est exécutée dans le sens de la longueur en suivant le grain du bois. Il est facile de réaliser des coupes longitudinales à l’aide d’un guide longitudinal (Fig. 14). Celui-ci fait partie des accessoires disponibles (non inclus).
