WARNING General information Concentrate fully on your driving at all times! As the driver you are wholly responsible for the operation of your vehicle. ■ Only use the device such that you are in full control of your vehicle in every traffic situation – do not run the risk of an accident. ■ Adjust the volume to ensure that audible signals from outside the vehicle, e.g. sirens from vehicles with right-of-way such as police cars, ambulances and fire engines, can be heard at all times.
As the device only functions after entering the safety code it cannot be used if stolen. This increases vehicle security. Note The code is normally stored in the instrument cluster. Searching for and storing radio stations Radio Manual search › Turn the menu button 2 or press the Man function button in the RADIOmain menu. The selected frequency range is displayed in a scale at the bottom of the screen. › Briefly press the menu button to exit the manual frequency selection and redisplay the function keys. For example, if you drive to work every day at a certain time the vehicle, simply enter the approximate start time. The unit starts recording 90 minutes before the set start time and ends recording 30 minutes after it. You can then listen to the latest traffic reports before each journey and adjust your route to the current traffic situation. Note In case of a message of over four minutes long, the beginning is overwritten.
Media Using the system MEDIA main menu Calling up the main menu MEDIA and changing the media source › By pressing the button MEDIA the play function of the last played audio source will continue. If audio sources are currently available on the device you can use the selector button MEDIA to switch between the last audio sources. If a previously played media source is selected again, play will continue from the last played part.
CAUTION For playback in the internal drive, never use CDs marked “Do not insert in drives without a drawer” or Eco Disc. ■ After pressing the / icon there is a time delay of a few seconds before the CD is ejected. During this time the lock in front of the CD slot is open. ■ Be sure to wait until the CD has been fully ejected before you try to insert a new CD. You might otherwise damage the drive inside the unit.

MDI input - multimedia input The input for external MDI audio sources is located under the front armrest in the storage compartment of the front passenger side or in the storage compartment of the centre console (according to vehicle model).
Enter call number Phone Enter a number and select › In the TELEPHONE main menu tap the [:::] function button to open the keypad to enter a phone number. › Tap on the number button to accept the corresponding number in the entry line. › Delete the characters in the entry line from left to right by pressing the function button . › Tap the function button when the desired number is displayed in the entry line. The connection to the entered call number is established.
› In the opened pop-up window, tap the call list from which you want to select a Search for an entry in the telephone book phone number. The corresponding list is displayed. Phone numbers for which there is an entry in the phonebook are displayed with the appropriate name. › In the Phonebook menu press the Search function button to seach for a phonebook entry. The function button can be used to display further information about the stored number.
The assignment of the shortcut keys remains stored in the unit and will only be displayed again when the corresponding SIM card is connected again to the mobile phone preparation program.
