We hold strong to our roots as the original lifestyle and performance
audio brand with a strong heritage in music, action sports, and youth
culture. Just like our consumers, we are also evolving every day to be
better than yesterday and live life with passion. While our irreverence
and differentiated point of view continue stronger than ever, we are also
improving in all aspects of our business.
Our product innovation and quality have never been stronger and will
lead the next evolution of Skullcandy. We have moved away from our
historical outsourced product development model because we did not feel
our quality met the expectations of our consumers. We now have added
more than thirty engineers, designers, developers and quality positions
throughout the world. We have also added an Advanced Concepts and
Engineering team where we are cooking up the newest innovations and
ideas for the future. Our consumers are already seeing the difference with
innovations such as our patented immersion Crusher technology. Crusher
provides bass you can feel (not just hear) and puts the consumer in the
front row of the concert and inside of the video game or movie. You have
to feel it to believe it. Other technologies that are improving the way our
consumers experience their music include our patented Fix and Off-Axis
technologies.
Our brand’s authenticity comes from the skate parks, mountains and ocean
swell. However, what makes our brand unique is our ability to combine the
many pieces of youth culture to create a full youth collective. We have the
ability to bring together NBA all-stars such as Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose,
Kyrie Irving and James Harden with skate team members like Eric Koston
and Theotis Beasley. We bring these together in a way that is Skullcandy—
fun, young and irreverent with a twist of gritty, creative and active.
