Block & U-Bolt

Installation Instructions

1. Park the vehicle on flat level ground, block the front tires / wheels, & set the emergency brake.

2. Disconnect the rear shock from the axle. Raise the rear of the vehicle using a floor jack & support

the frame rails using jack stands. Remove the rear u-bolts & lower the axle away from the rear

springs to allow for installation of the lift block. Place the lift block between the leaf spring & the

axle tube. (If the vehicle is equipped with an OEM block, place the lift block under the OEM block

as shown in the diagram below). Skyjacker lift blocks are designed with a taper to set the

pinion angle. The lift block must be installed so the tallest portion is towards the rear of

the vehicle & the shortest portion towards the front.

3. Raise the axle making sure to line up the dial pin of the block with the center hole in the axle tube

& be sure that the tie bolt in the leaf spring lines up properly with the center hole in the block.

4. Install the new Skyjacker u-bolts & self-locking nuts. Torque to the specifications provided below.

5. Once the u-bolts are installed, lower the vehicle to the ground & reinstall the shocks.

6. Re-torque the u-bolts after the first 100 miles & periodically there after.

Torque Specifications:

1/2” U-Bolts = 75-80 Ft. Lbs.

9/16” U-Bolts = 85-90 Ft. Lbs.

5/8” U-Bolts = 100-110 Ft. Lbs.
