3. Measure the sag in the intermediate boom extend chains between
the bottom of the chains and the top of the primary intermediate
boom at their closest point (Figure 108). Acceptable intermediate
boom chain sag is between 1.5" (38 mm) and 2.5" (64 mm). If the
measurement is not within the dimensions listed above, the boom
chains need to be adjusted.

Before making any adjustments to the intermediate boom extend chains,
check the following measurement at the rear of the boom.
4. Start the vehicle, retract the boom completely and turn the vehicle
OFF.
