Writing and erasing notes
You can write and erase notes on the capture board just like you do on a traditional dry erase
board. To get the best performance out of the capture board, follow these best practices:
l Wait for the icons on the capture board to stop flashing before you begin writing.
l Write and draw using the markers provided with your capture board or a third-party marker
recommended by SMART. For a list of recommended third-party markers see
Replacing the
markers and eraser
on page29.
l Hold the pen away from the tip and at a right (90°)angle to the boards surface.
l Ensure your palm, hand, arm and any loose clothing doesn’t touch the board while you’re
writing.
l Write clearly with large text and spaced out ink strokes.
l Avoid writing too close to the edges and corners of the capture board.
l If two people are writing on an SMARTkapp 84" capture board, ensure there is least 8" (3 cm)
between the two pens, or the pen and eraser you are using.
l While connected with the app, use only the eraser provided with the capture board.
l While erasing, hold the eraser flat against the board.
l Clean the eraser and capture board periodically following the instructions provided in this
guide (see
Cleaning the capture board
on page27).
Viewing notes
During a session, you can view the notes you’ve written on the capture board on your mobile
device. As you write or erase notes, the changes appear on your mobile device automatically.
By default, your mobile device displays the capture board’s entire writing surface. You can use
gestures to zoom in, zoom out and pan:
