Cleaning and Maintenance Changes in color do not affect the function and stability of the glass. It is, in fact, not a question of changes to the cooktop material, but simply of residues which were not removed and therefore charred. Shiny spots can form due to the bases of pans rubbing on the surface, especially if they are aluminum, and the use of unsuitable cleaning agents. They are difficult to remove using common cleaning products. You may need to repeat the cleaning process several times.
