PURPOSE OF EQUIPMENT: The Insight
®
Laser is a FDA Class IIIa
(IEC Class 3R) Laser Product that emits visible light for precise aim-
ing of the Smith & Wesson BODYGUARD
®
38 revolver.
The Insight
®
Laser provides for active target acquisition in low light
and close quarters situations and features ambidextrous laser con-
trols, three operating modes, and a five minute auto-off timer.

LASER WITH A
MIX OF OLD AND NEW BATTERIES, OR BATTERIES OF
DIFFERENT BRANDS – RISK OF FIRE, EXPLOSION
AND BURNS.
CAUTION: Do not store the Insight
®
Laser with the batteries installed
for extended periods of time without testing periodically during such
periods of non-use to ensure that it is functioning properly. When
anticipating use of and reliance upon the Insight
®
Laser, check before-
hand to ensure it is in proper working order.
Battery Inspection: The Insight
®
Laser is powered by two silver oxide
batteries (#357 or equivalent). Before installation, inspect the batteries
for any cracks, dents, leakage, or bulging. Never install a defective
battery in the Insight
®
Laser.
NOTE: Replacing batteries once a year is recommended.
Any battery has the potential to leak harmful chemicals that can dam-
age skin, clothing, or the inside of the Insight
®
Laser. To avoid risk of
injury, the following safety precautions apply when handling, storing,
or disposing of batteries:
• Do not short circuit, puncture, incinerate, or disassemble.
• Do not attempt to recharge the batteries.
• Prior to use, inspect all batteries for cracks, dents, leakage, or
bulging. Never install a defective battery in the Insight
®
Laser.
