NOTE: Please read this information before installing. Check components received with components listed

above. DRILLING IS REQUIRED for installation of these Sure-Step side bars. To obtain correct

installation we recommend you to follow these step by step installation instructions carefully. Please take care

when installing this product to protect the finish and your investment.

Step One: Locate hardware marked 601018. Check contents of 601018 with the hardware listed below.

4 901001 3/8-16 x 1 indented hex washer slotted type F bolts, zinc plated

12 901030 3/8-16 x 1 1/4 hex cap screws, zinc plated GR5

6 901014 3/8-16 hex nuts, zinc plated

12 901015 3/8 flat washers, zinc plated

12 901016 3/8 split lock washers, zinc plated

2 901035 3/8-16 flat socket head cap screws, zinc plated GR5

1 801170L rear support bracket, left side

1 801170R rear support bracket, right side

2 801171 front support brackets

1 801174L front support brace, left side

1 801174R front support brace, right side

4 #30 3” plastic rings, black

Step Two: Locate the JN420-S4L side bar, one 801171 support bracket, one 8011170L support bracket, two #30

plastic rings, three 901030 hex bolts, one 901035 flat socket bolt, three 901015 flat washers and three

901016 split lock washers. Secure the brackets and rings to the side bar as shown in fig #1. Do not

fully tighten hardware at this time.

Secure the support brace to the vehicle as shown in fig #2. Support the side bar on jack stands under the vehicle. Attach the front support bracket to the support brace as shown in fig #2. Position the support brackets on the vehicle as show in fig #3 & 4.

Be sure to use all hardware supplied and tighten all bolts. IMPORTANT: Sure-Step side bars have a 300 lb. weight capacity. To protect your investment, wax this product after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish.
