Operation BeforeStarting 1. Checkthe guards, deflectors, grass bag, and covers to make sure all are in place and securely tightened. 2. Checkthe blade control (A, Figure 4) and drive control (B) to insure they work freely. 5. Add fuel to the tank: • Make sure the mower is outside, where fumes can safely dissipate. • Removethe fuel fill cap (C, Figure 5). • Fill the tank with fuel. Refer to the section entitled 'Fuel Recommendations'.
Operation Starting the Mower The engine on this mower is equipped with a ReadyStart® system, which features a temperature-controlled automatic choke, it does not have a manual choke or a primer. 1. Squeezethe blade control (A, Figure 6) against the drive control (B). 2. Pull the drive control all the way back to the neutral position. Operation Charging the Battery The battery in this mower is sealedand maintenancefree, and requires no service other than charging. If the battery will not accept a charge, bring the mower to an authorized service center for service. 1. Using the supplied charger, plug the charger connector into the battery charge port (A, Figure 14). Plug the charger into a wall outlet and charge the battery for 12-24 hours. (Longer periods will not damagethe battery.
Operalion Mainlenance Reminder Spark Plug The maintenancereminder (A, Figure 15) provides timely reminders of important maintenanceitems. It has six display modes: The 'Spark Plug' icon (E) will appear every 50 hours (total hours) of operation. This indicates it is time to change the spark plug. Be sure to follow the procedures outlined in this manual. To reset: 1. Press the 'Mode' button until the 'Spark Plug' screen is displayed. (The icon will flash.) 2.
