Admin and Installation Guide M700, M300 Setting Up
Setting Up
M700
Power Sourcing
The M700 is provided with both power and the network connection via PoE (Power over Ethernet).
The PoE cable is connected to the RJ 45 connector on the back of the unit (see Fig. 1, below). There is
no separate jack for a power adaptor.
Note: If your network does not have a PoE infrastructure, you can use snom's A5
PoE injector, product number 00004065, as a mid-span device to provide power.
Hardware Setup
The M700 is delivered with the footstand attached and ready to be placed on a desktop, shelf, cabinet,
or on the floor. Without the footstand, it can be hung on the wall or mounted under the ceiling.
Note: For ceiling mounting, the separately available ceiling plate, PN 00003933, is
needed. It can also be used to bolt the M700 to the wall more securely than by merely
hanging it on hooks or screws.
Standing Unit
1. Connect the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 jack on the back of the device (see Fig. 1).
2. Place the cable securely in the cable guide.
