Regular maintenance is essenal to ensure your snow
blower connues to deliver safe and high-quality
performance.
To help you properly care for your snow blower, the
following pages include a recommended maintenance
schedule, roune inspecon procedures, and simple
maintenance procedures using basic hand tools.
Maintenance is the responsibility of the owner and
must be performed regularly. More dicult service
tasks or tasks that require special tools are best
handled by a recommended service technician or
other qualied mechanic.
The maintenance schedule described on page
applies to snow blower used under normal operang
condions. If you operate your snow blower under
severe condions, such as sustained prolonged use or
use it in unusually wet, dusty or rocky condions,
consult your servicing dealer for recommendaons
applicable to your individual needs and use.
Be sure to use genuine SNOW BEAST replacement
parts when servicing your snow blower to assure the
best quality, safety and performance.

Before making any adjustments and/or
servicing to your SNOW BEAST, make sure the snow
blower is on a level surface, with the ignion switch
o, the key removed, and the augers disengaged. Also,
disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs
and ground them against the engine to prevent
inadvertent starng.
If you are performing adjustments or maintenance
aer operang the snow blower, allow the unit to cool
and always wear protecve clothing.
CHECK ENGINE OIL BEFORE EACH USE. Change oil as
recommended on page 19 and follow proper
procedures to check and change oil.
Check the skids to ensure that the auger does not
contact the paved or gravel surface.
Adjust skids as necessary to make up for wear on the
snow blower.
Replacement skid shoes are available for purchase
through GXi Parts & Service.

Check shear bolts (as well as other bolts) at frequent
intervals for proper ghtness to be sure the equip-
ment is in safe working condion.
Do NOT use standard bolts to replace shear bolts.
Severe damage or injury could occur. Warranty is also
void if shear bolts are not used.
Shear bolts are available for replacement through GXi
Parts & Service.

Allow the machine to run with the impeller engaged
for a few minutes aer blowing snow to prevent
freeze-up of the augers/impeller.
