7. The next screen will allow you to enter modem settings.
• Current location: Select the country you will dial from.
• Speaker volume: Select the modem’s sound level.
• Quick Connect: Check if you would like to configure the modem for
quick connections from a particular phone line. You must have a
V.92 Internet Service Provider. The first time you connect from the
phone line, the modem will save the phone line’s settings, enabling
quicker connections in the future from the same phone line. This
feature is helpful if you plan to use the Socket Cordless 56K Modem
repeatedly from the same phone line.
Note: Socket recommends that you disable Quick Connect if you plan
to use the modem with different phone lines. Otherwise, it may take
twice as long to establish a connection because the modem searches
for the previous line characteristics before trying to connect to a new
line.
