SolarEdge Single Phase Inverter Improvements

Dear SolarEdge Customers,

SolarEdge is happy to announce significant enhancements and improvements to its line of single phase

inverters. All the inverters are UL1699B certified, for arc fault detection and interruption compliance.

In addition, SolarEdge will begin shipping its single phase inverters with the SolarEdge AC/DC Safety Switch

pre-assembled. The inverter will be supplied in a newly designed box, that when opened leaves the inverter

vertical and ready for mounting. This change will simplify installation and shorten the time spent at the

system site. It will also simplify inventory management by ensuring inverter and switch compatibility in a

single part number.

Inverters that are UL1699B compliant and have a pre-installed AC/DC Safety Switch will be shipping from

Dec. 1

2013 and will have a part number with a “-U” suffix.

UL1699B Certification

The SolarEdge system incorporates many safety mechanisms, ensuring

safety for installers, maintenance works and firefighters.

In addition to the built in safety features of the SolarEdge system, the

SolarEdge single phase inverters are now certified to UL1699B, allowing

their installation in jurisdictions requiring NEC 2011 690.11 compliance.

Compliant inverters can be identified by their part number and by the

product label:

- All inverters with a part number ending in “-U” are compliant.

- All compliant inverters will have the following text printed on the

inverter box label and on the inverter certification label:

Type 1 Photovoltaic Arc-Fault Circuit-Protection

Compliant inverters will be supplied with documentation detailing the

functionality and troubleshooting of this feature.
