Connecting a LAN to the SOMAport 140
To provide Internet access to all of the PCs on your LAN, run a cable from the
SOMAport 140 to your hub.
You can connect a hub to the SOMAport 140 using a crossover (null modem)
cable.
Use a networking technology such as HomeRF, 802.11b, or HPNA. Enable all
devices to have Internet access through the Ethernet port on the SOMAport
140.
To connect a hub to the SOMAport 140

Turn off the computer and the hub.

Insert one end of the straight-through Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port at
the back of the SOMAport 140.

Insert the other end of the cable into any empty Ethernet port on your hub.
NOTE:
Make sure the length of the cable does not exceed 100 m
(328 feet).

Connect any other equipment to the SOMAport 140 using the proper
procedures.

Turn on the hub and the computer.
