Unpack your Sonos components, and then simply follow the setup instructions in sequential order to ensure that you set up your Sonos® Digital Music System correctly.
Chapter 2: System Setup 2-2 Setting Up a New Sonos System Follow the step-by-step instructions to ensure that you set up your Sonos® Digital Music System correctly. These steps are fully explained in the pages that follow. • If you experience any difficulty during the setup process, see "Tips and Troubleshooting" on page A-1for additional help. • The first ZonePlayer or ZoneBridge you set up should connect to your home network using a standard Ethernet cable (supplied). 1.
Chapter 2: System Setup 2-3 Step 1: Connect a Sonos component to your home network Connect the Ethernet cable from an open port on your broadband router to any of the Ethernet switch connectors on the back of a ZonePlayer or ZoneBridge. Note: You can connect a ZoneBridge, a ZonePlayer 80, or a ZonePlayer 100 to your router. If you are going to use speakers in this music zone, you can connect a ZonePlayer 100 to your router.
2-4 Chapter 2: System Setup Setup illustrations (no open router port) If you don’t have an open port on your router, you can disconnect your computer from the router and connect it to the ZonePlayer or ZoneBridge instead.
