IP (Ingress Protection) rating
Your device has an IP rating, which means it has undergone certified tests to measure its
resistance levels to both dust and water. The first digit in the two-digit IP rating indicates
the level of protection against solid objects, including dust. The second digit indicates
how resistant the device is to water. The higher the numbers, the higher the respective
protection.
Your device is waterproof and dust resistant in compliance with the Ingress Protection
ratings IP5X, IPX5, and IPX8 (see details below). These ratings mean that your device is
dust resistant and is protected against low-pressure water streams, as well as against
the effects of submersion for 30 minutes in fresh (non-saline) water up to 1.5 meters
deep. You can therefore use the device in dusty environments, when your fingers are
wet, and in extreme weather conditions, for example, when it’s snowing or raining, or
when humidity levels are high. See the table below for more details.
