Do not install the appliance in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.
As the main plug of AC Adaptor is used to disconnect the AC adaptor from the mains connect it to
an easily accessible AC outlet. Should you notice an abnormality in it, disconnect it from the AC
outlet immediately.
Do not expose the batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) to excessive heat such as sunshine,
fire or the like for a long time.
Do not subject the batteries to extreme low temperature conditions that may result in overheating
and thermal runaway. Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries. In the event of
a cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been
made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice. Secondary
cells and batteries need to be charged before use. Always use the correct charger and refer to the
manufacturer’s instructions or equipment manual for proper charging instructions. Do not use any
charger other than that specifically provided for use with the equipment. After extended periods of
storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the cells or batteries several times to obtain
maximum performance. Dispose of properly.

Data transmission is always initiated by software, which is the passed down through the MAC,
through the digital and analog baseband, and finally to the RF chip. Several special packets are
initiated by the MAC. These are the only ways the digital baseband portion will turn on the RF
transmitter, which it then turns off at the end of the packet. Therefore, the transmitter will be on
only while one of the aforementioned packets is being transmitted. In other words, this unit
automatically discontinues transmission in case of either absence of information to transmit or
operational failure.

Caution on charging
When the USB plug is inserted in a wet condition, a short circuit
occurs due to the liquid (tap water, salt water, refreshing drink
etc.) attached to the main unit and charging cable or foreign
matter, it may cause abnormal heat generation or malfunction.
Never insert USB plug when the main unit or
charging cable is wet condition.
Precautions
On safety
• If your skin touches this product for a long time when the power is on, it may cause a low
temperature injury.
• Important information such as the model name is located as follows:
– On the bottom of the main unit.
– On the surface of the AC adaptor.
• The MAC address of Wi-Fi network is located inside of the cap on the rear side of this unit.
Notes on the AC adaptor
• Use only the supplied AC adaptor. To avoid damaging the unit, do not use any other AC adaptor.
On placement
• Do not set the unit in an inclined position.
• Do not leave the unit in a place subject to high temperatures, such as direct sunlight, near a heat
source or under lighting equipment.
• Do not leave any objects susceptible to magnetism (cash cards, credit cards with magnetic
coding, etc.) near the unit.
• Do not use or leave the unit in a car.
Others
• Do not use or leave the unit in an extremely cold or hot environment (temperature outside the
range of 5 °C – 35 °C (41 °F – 95 °F)). If the unit is used or left in outside the above range, the unit
may automatically stop to protect internal circuitry.
• At high temperature, the charging may stop or the volume may reduce to protect the battery.
• Even if you do not intend to use the unit for a long time, charge the battery to its full capacity
once every 6 months to maintain its performance.

• When pressing the BATTERY button to check the battery power during the unit is turned on;

• When Lighting Mode is changed;

Notes on the update
The software of this unit will be automatically updated to the latest software while connected to the
Internet via a Wi-Fi network.
The software update will be delivered from time to time when, for example, a new feature becomes
available or the update is required for stable use.
Such automatic software feature may not be disabled. Also, previous versions of the software
cannot be retrievable.
Do not turn off power of this unit while updating. The unit may not be operational while updating.
To use this product, a Wi-Fi environment and Google Account are necessary, as well as your consent
to Google Terms of Use and/or Privacy Policy. By using this product, you agree to Sony’s EULA.
Software for this product is automatically updated from time to time and you cannot choose or
refuse to load such automatic software.
Notes on waterproof and dust proof features
(Read before using the unit)

dust proof.
The waterproof and dust proof performance of the unit is based on our measurements under the
conditions herein described. Note that malfunctions as a result of water immersion or dust
intrusion caused by misuse by the customer are not covered by the warranty.
To avoid the deterioration of waterproof and dust proof
performance
Check the following and use the unit correctly.
• The unit passes the drop test from 1.22 m (4 ft) on plywood of 5 cm (2 in) thickness conforming to
MIL-STD 810 F Method 516.5-Shock. However, this does not guarantee no damage, no breakdown,
or waterproof and dust proof performance in all conditions. Deformation or damage from
dropping the unit or subjecting it to mechanical shock may cause deterioration of the waterproof
and dust proof performance.
• Do not use the unit in a location where large amounts of water or hot water may splash on it. The
unit does not have a design that is resistant to water pressure. Use of the unit in a location where
high water pressure is applied, such as under running water or in the shower, may cause a
malfunction.
• Do not pour high-temperature water or blow hot air from a hair dryer or any other appliance on
the unit directly. Also, never use the unit in high temperature locations such as in saunas or near
a stove.
• Handle the cap with care. The cap plays a very important role in maintenance of the waterproof
and dust proof performance. When using the unit, make sure that the cap is closed completely.
When closing the cap, be careful not to allow foreign objects inside. If the cap is not closed
completely the waterproof and dust proof performance may deteriorate and may cause a
malfunction of the unit as a result of water or dust particles entering the unit.

How to care for the unit when wet
Although the fabric part of the unit has water repellent treatment applied, you can use the unit
more comfortably and for a longer period of time by following the maintenance procedure below.
• If the surface of the unit gets dirty in the following cases, wash the unit with fresh water (tap
water, etc.) promptly to remove the dirt. Leaving dirt on its surface may cause the fabric part to
discolor or deteriorate, or the unit to malfunction.
Ex.
– When salt, sand, etc. is stuck on the unit after using it on a beach, pool side, etc.
– When the unit is stained with foreign substances (sunscreen, suntan oil, etc.)
• If the unit gets wet, wipe off the moisture using a dry soft cloth immediately. In addition, dry the
unit in an airy place until no moisture remains.
• The sound quality may change when water enters the speaker section of the unit. It is not
malfunction. Wipe off the moisture on its surface, and put the unit on a dry soft cloth with the
SONY logo facing down to drain the collected water inside the unit. Then, dry the unit in an airy
place until no moisture remains.
Note
• If the surface of the unit gets dirty, do not use detergent, thinner, benzine, alcohol, etc. to clean
the unit because it will affect the water repellent function of the fabric part of the unit.
• Especially in cold regions, be sure to wipe off the moisture after using the unit. Leaving moisture
on its surface may cause the unit to freeze and malfunction.
• Do not place the unit directly on sand, such as in a sandbox or on a sandy beach. If sand grains,
etc. enter the fabric part of the unit, remove them carefully. Never use a vacuum cleaner, etc. on
the unit. It may cause damage of the speaker unit.

Mise en garde sur le

Installation
• N’installez pas l’appareil en position inclinée.
• Ne laissez pas l’appareil dans un endroit soumis à des températures élevées, notamment aux
rayons directs du soleil ou situé à proximité d’une source de chaleur ou sous un appareil
d’éclairage.
• Ne laissez à proximité de l’appareil aucun objet sensible à un rayonnement magnétique (cartes
de paiement, cartes de crédit avec encodage magnétique, etc.).
• N’utilisez pas ou ne laissez pas l’appareil dans une voiture.
Autres
• N’utilisez ou ne laissez pas l’appareil dans un environnement extrêmement froid ou chaud
(température à l’extérieur de la plage de 5 °C - 35 °C (41 °F - 95 °F)). Si l’appareil est utilisé ou
laissé à une température à l’extérieur de cette plage, il pourrait s’arrêter automatiquement pour
protéger le circuit interne.
• À des températures élevées, le chargement peut s’interrompre ou le volume peut être réduit
pour protéger la batterie.
• Même si vous envisagez de ne pas utiliser l’appareil pendant une période prolongée, chargez
entièrement la batterie tous les 6 mois pour maintenir son niveau de performance.

Remarques concernant la mise à jour
Le logiciel de cet appareil sera automatiquement mis à jour vers la version la plus récente lorsqu’il
est connecté à internet via un réseau sans fil.
Une mise à jour du logiciel sera proposée lorsque, par exemple, une nouvelle fonctionnalité est
disponible ou si la mise à jour est nécessaire pour assurer un fonctionnement stable.
Une telle fonctionnalité automatique de logiciel peut ne pas être désactivée. En outre, les versions
précédentes du logiciel ne sont pas récupérables.
Ne mettez pas cet appareil hors tension pendant la mise à jour. L’appareil risque de ne pas être
fonctionnel lors de la mise à jour.
Pour utiliser ce produit, un environnement Wi-Fi et un compte Google sont nécessaires, et votre
acceptation des conditions d'utilisation et/ou de la politique de confidentialité de Google sera
demandée. En utilisant ce produit, vous acceptez le CLUF de Sony. Le logiciel de ce produit est mis à
jour automatiquement de temps en temps et vous ne pouvez pas choisir ou refuser ce type de
logiciel automatique.

Les connecteurs et accessoires de cet appareil fournis (USB/DC IN) ne sont pas étanches ou
résistants aux particules de poussière.
L’étanchéité à l’eau et l’étanchéité aux poussières de l’appareil sont fondées sur nos mesures
réalisées dans les conditions décrites ici. N’oubliez pas que la garantie ne couvre pas les
défaillances consécutives à l’immersion dans l’eau ou l’intrusion de poussières provenant d’un
mauvais emploi par l’utilisateur.
Pour éviter la détérioration de l’étanchéité à l’eau et de
l’étanchéité aux poussières
Vérifiez les points suivants et utilisez correctement l’appareil.
• L’appareil a réussi le test de chute de 1,22 m (4 pi) sur du contreplaqué d’une épaisseur de 5 cm
(2po), conformément à la norme MIL-STD 810 F Method 516.5-Shock. Cela ne garantit toutefois
pas l’absence de dommage et de panne, l’étanchéité à l’eau et l’étanchéité aux poussières dans
toutes les conditions. Toute déformation ou dommage dû à la chute de l’appareil ou à une
exposition à des chocs mécaniques peut entraîner la détérioration de l’étanchéité à l’eau et
l’étanchéité aux poussières.
• N’utilisez pas l'appareil dans un endroit où de grandes quantités d’eau ou de l’eau chaude
pourraient l’asperger. L'appareil ne possède pas une conception permettant de résister à la
pression d’eau. L’utilisation de l'appareil dans un endroit où une pression d’eau élevée est
appliquée, notamment sous l’eau courante ou dans une douche, pourrait causer un problème de
fonctionnement.
• Ne versez pas d’eau très chaude et ne soufflez pas de l’air chaud provenant d’un sèche-cheveux
ou d’un autre appareil, directement sur l’appareil. En outre, n’utilisez jamais l’appareil dans des
endroits où la température est élevée, notamment dans des saunas ou à proximité d’un poêle.
