You can unfinalise a disc when the disc is
finalised.
For DVD-RWs (Video mode)
DVD-RWs (Video mode) that have been
finalised to prohibit additional dubbing can
be unfinalised to allow further dubbing.
For DVD-RWs (VR mode)
If you cannot edit on a DVD-RW (VR mode)
that has been finalised with other DVD
equipment, unfinalise the disc.

The recorder may not unfinalise DVD-RWs
(Video mode) that have been finalised on another
recorder.
1 Select “Unfinalise,” and press .
2 Select “Yes,” and press .
The recorder starts unfinalising the disc.
Unfinalising may take several minutes.
3 Press SYSTEM MENU to exit.
Formatting the HDD (HDD
Formatting)
You can check used/remaining space of the
HDD and use the following functions.
A “Used Space”/“Remain”
(approximate): Displays used/
remaining time in current recording
mode (example: DR mode) and used/
remaining space on the HDD.
B HDD setting buttons
“Erase”: Erases all titles (except
protected titles) on the HDD.
“Format”: Formats the HDD to resolve
the problem when the hard disk error
occurred. All of the recorded content on
the HDD will be erased.
