Playback of Still Images or Video From a CF Card The BKM-FW50 is equipped with a memory card slot that accepts CompactFlash cards (not supplied). If you insert a CF card that contains images shot with a digital still camera into the slot of the BKM-FW50, the images can be viewed on the display in a slide show format. You can make various settings for playback of still images or video. For information on how to make these settings, see the section “Computer Operation” (page 11).
Detailed control of playback method When the display is connected to a network via the BKM-FW50, any still image or video file stored on the CF card can be shown on the display. For information on settings and operation in this case, see the section “Computer Operation” (page 11). Removing the CF card Note Insert the CF card completely into the slot, aliging the label with the arrow facing as shown. 3 Replace the memory card slot cover and tighten the fastening screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
3 Press the MENU button on the display to bring up the main menu. 4 Use the M/m buttons to select “INITIAL SETUP/INFORMATION” and press the ENTER button. The “INITIAL SETUP/INFORMATION” menu appears. 5 Use the M/m buttons to select “IP Address Setup” and press the ENTER button. 6 Use the M/m buttons to select “Manual” and press the ENTER button. 7 Enter the necessary items. 1) Use the M/m buttons to select the item to enter manually and press the ENTER button.
2 3 Enter the IP address that was assigned to the display control function into the address field, in the format “http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx”. Then press the Enter key on the keyboard. When a user name and password have been set, the “Network Password” screen appears. Enter the user name and password that were set, and then proceed to the next step. Click the “Setup” tab. The “Setup” screen appears. This screen lets you set up the Network Password.
Computer Operation Controlling the display Setting items on respective screens Information screen You can make various display settings on the screen of the computer. Make sure that the BKM-FW50 is properly installed in the display, and that the BKMFW50, computer, and router or hub are properly connected with network cable. Then turn on power to the display, the computer, and the router or hub.
For details on error information, see “List of Error Codes” (page 30). Clear (Delete) Lets you delete error information displayed in the Player Error History. Note Up to 30 errors appear in the Player Error History in the order that they occurred. As new errors occur after this maximum is reached, old error information is deleted, starting with the oldest. Notes • For details on these functions, consult the operating instructions of the FWD series product.
Brightness +/– buttons Adjust the screen brightness. Chroma +/– buttons Adjust the color intensity. Phase +/– buttons Adjust the color balance. Reset button Resets the settings from “Contrast” to “Phase” to their factory default values. Supported file formats The following formats are supported for still image/video playback.
Streaming Play • Files are played in ASCII code order. Naming files in alphabetical or numerical order is recommended. Repeat Select this check box if the still images or video files are to be played back repeatedly. Save Saves the settings made on this screen. Play Starts playback of the selected file or of the still image/video files in the folder specified in “Play file/folder name”. This screen lets you make settings for display and playback of still image and video files stored on a Web/HTTP server.
Play file/folder name Specifies the location of the still image or video files on the Web/HTTP server specified in the “Server Address” field. You can either enter the location in the text box or click the “Browse” button and select the file or folder location on the screen that appears. Delete Deletes a file or folder saved on the memory card inserted in the unit. New Folder Creates a new folder on the memory card inserted in the unit.
Local Play Rename Renames a file or folder saved on the memory card inserted in the unit. Delete Deletes a file or folder saved on the memory card inserted in the unit. Note Files are played in ASCII code order. Naming files in alphabetical or numerical order is recommended. Repeat Select this check box if the still images or video files are to be played back repeatedly.
Note Play Settings To enable use of the PC Presentation function, UltraVNC must be installed on the computer. UltraVNC is free software licensed under GNU GPL. Connect PC Select this to enable the PC Presentation function of the BKM-FW50. The following items also need to be set. IP Address: Enter the IP address of the computer. Enter the IP address in the following format: “xxx.xxx.xxx.
When you select this check box, priority is given to data downloads with the Scheduled Download function. If the specified time for Auto Play falls during a download, automatic playback for that day is canceled. When this check box is not selected, Auto Play will begin after data finishes downloading. Slide Show The following items can be set for the slide show function. Interval: Specifies the time interval until switching to the next still image or video.
Make selections based on the aspect ratios of the images you wish to view. When viewing still image files, we recommend making the aspect ratios of each file the same. Standard Resolution Mode (Default Values): 480p Input still image Notes • When playing files with mixed aspect ratios, black bars may appear on either side of the display, or the image may be stretched lengthwise.

Video Resolution Select Auto, NTSC (480i), NTSC (480p), or PAL (576p) as the playback resolution for video. List Play Guide Message Specify whether to display a message that enables you to tell the display is turned on when no still images or videos are playing. Background Color Select “Black,” “Dark Gray,” or “Gray” as the display color to use when no still images or videos are playing. Apply Click here to save the settings.
Edit Play List This screen lets you edit play lists and create new play lists. Note To edit play lists, a CF card must be inserted in the memory card slot on the unit. Edit Play List This feature can be used to change the content of previously created play lists. The following buttons are available to perform editing and other tasks on the play list selected in the drop-down list. Edit Displays a screen for changing the content of the play list selected in the drop-down list.
Create New Play List This feature can be used to create a new play list. Enter a name for the play list in the text box, and then use the following buttons to create the play list. Create Displays a screen for editing a new play list. The operations available on this screen are the same as when you click the “Edit” button in the “Edit Play List” section. • Before scheduling a time table, make sure to configure the time setting on the Setup screen (page 25).
• To specify still image or video files from the CF card inserted in the memory card slot on the unit, click the “File Browse” button without entering anything in the text box, and specify a file or folder on the screen that appears. • To specify still image or video files from a Web/HTTP server, enter the server’s address in the text box, click the “File Browse” button, and specify a file or folder on the screen that appears. • You can also specify a play list (page 21) if you have created one.
Note Setup screen You can specify a time anywhere in the range of 0:00 to 35:59 (11:59 a.m. the next day) for both the data playback start time and the time table end time. As a result, data set to play back in a time slot on the next day may be superseded by a time table scheduled to start playback that day. Generally, when playback time slots overlap like this, playback scheduled for the current day is always given priority. For details, see “Scheduling playback by time table” (page 33).
Network Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Select “Specify an IP address” to enter each value in the IP address’s numeric string. Select “Obtain an IP address (DHCP)” to acquire an IP address automatically from the DHCP server. In this case, be aware that the IP address will change each time the display attached to the BKM-FW50 is turned on. Note The BKM-FW50 requires a separate IP address for the display control function and the still image/video playback function.
ID Talk Lets you make settings for the ID Talk function. ID Talk is a protocol that allows network-based control of the display in which the BKM-FW50 is installed. Controlled items includes various settings and adjustments such as color temperature and gamma. For information about supported ID Talk commands, contact your local Sony dealer. SNMP The BKM-FW50 is a network device which supports SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). Besides standard MIB-II, Sony Enterprise MIB is also supported.
Troubleshooting Before requesting service, please check the following points. If the problem persists, contact your local Sony dealer. Problem Cause/Remedy Cannot connect to network. • BKM-FW50 is not correctly installed in display. t Push the BKM-FW50 fully into the slot, and tighten the fastening screws. • Cable is not connected correctly to network port. t Plug the cable firmly into the network port. • Network settings are incorrect.

List of Error Codes When an error occurs while using the BKM-FW50, an error code along with error information is displayed on the Information screen (page 11). Other Scheduling playback by time table When you create a time table and perform scheduled playback of still image or video files, some files may not be played back, depending on the content of the schedule. When creating a time table, you can specify any time slot from 0:00 (midnight of the current day) to 35:59 (11:59 a.m. the next day) as the playback time of the still image or video files.

Lecture d’images fixes ou de vidéos à partir d’une carte CF Le BKM-FW50 est doté d’un emplacement pour carte mémoire compatible avec les cartes CompactFlash (non fournies). Si vous insérez une carte CF contenant des images prises avec un appareil photo numérique dans l’emplacement du BKMFW50, vous pouvez visualiser les images sur l’écran sous forme de diaporama. Préparation à l’utilisation des fonctions réseau Le BKM-FW50 peut être raccordé à un réseau à l’aide du câble LAN 10BASE-T/ 100BASE-TX. Vérification de l’adresse IP attribuée automatiquement Lorsqu’une adresse IP a été attribuée automatiquement, vous pouvez appeler l’écran de commande de l’écran du BKMFW50 de la façon suivante et vérifiez l’adresse IP qui a été attribuée. L’adresse IP change à chaque mise sous tension de l’écran. Vous devez par conséquent vérifier l’adresse IP de la façon décrite après chaque mise sous et hors tension de l’écran. 1 Appuyez sur la touche MENU de l’écran pour afficher le menu principal.

Beim Anschluss an ein LAN können Sie die IP-Adressen des BKM-FW50 anhand eines der beiden folgenden Verfahren einstellen. Fragen Sie Ihren Netzwerkadministrator nach Einzelheiten zur Auswahl der IPAdresse. • Zuweisen einer festen IP-Adresse für den BKM-FW50 Normalerweise sollten Sie dieses Verfahren verwenden.

Die Ordner auf der CF-Karte werden links auf dem Bildschirm in einer Baumstruktur angezeigt.

Sie können für jede Option in der Liste den Speicherort und die Hintergrundmusik für die Wiedergabedaten angeben sowie die Startzeit für die Wiedergabe und die Wiederholungseinstellungen konfigurieren. • Die Wiedergabe einer Datei kann mit der Schaltfläche Stop abgebrochen werden. In diesem Fall wird die Wiedergabe nach Zeitplan mit der nächsten Datei im Zeitplan zu der für diese Datei geplanten Startzeit fortgesetzt. • Während der Wiedergabe nach Zeitplan können Sie mit der Schaltfläche Play (Wiedergabe) die Wiedergabe einer anderen Datei starten. In diesem Fall wird die Wiedergabe nach Zeitplan mit der nächsten Datei im Zeitplan zu der für diese Datei geplanten Startzeit fortgesetzt.
Wenn Sie Änderungen vorgenommen oder Daten eingegeben haben, klicken Sie auf „Apply“ unten im jeweiligen Fenster, um die Einstellungen zu aktivieren. Nota Se nella cartella è memorizzato un file “index.html”, gli altri file e cartelle contenute nella cartella non vengono visualizzati.

IP Address: Immettere l’indirizzo IP del computer. Questa schermata consente di impostare la funzione di presentazione diapositive, la visualizzazione automatica e la riproduzione di file di fermo immagine e video. Auto Play (Riproduzione automatica) Questa impostazione consente di specificare se avviare automaticamente la riproduzione di file di fermo immagine/ video all’accessione del display in cui è installato BKM-FW50. Questa voce, insieme al timer ON del display, consente inoltre la riproduzione automatica in un orario programmato.
Rename (Rinomina) Rinomina un file o una cartella memorizzati nella scheda di memoria inserita nell’apparecchio. Delete (Elimina) Per eliminare un file o una cartella salvati nella scheda di memoria inserita nell’apparecchio.

I pulsanti “Up” (Su) e “Down” (Giù) consentono di modificare l’ordine dei file nella playlist. Il pulsante “Preview” visualizza un’anteprima della playlist, e il pulsante “Delete” consente di eliminare file dalla playlist. Dopo aver apportato tutte le modifiche desiderate, fare clic sul pulsante “OK”. La schermata di modifica della playlist si chiude Preview (Anteprima) Visualizza, consecutivamente, un’anteprima dei file di fermo immagine contenuti nella playlist selezionata nell’elenco a discesa.
* Il nome del pulsante può variare a seconda della lingua predefinita del sistema. Time Table (Orario) Inserire nei vari periodi di ciascun giorno i dati da riprodurre. Possono essere creati fino a sette orari diversi (denominati A - G) ed è possibile specificare, nella visualizzazione della settimana, in quale giorno devono essere riprodotti. Per modificare i contenuti dei vari orari, fare clic sul pulsante “Go” sul lato destro della visualizzazione per settimana.
• Per specificare file di fermo immagine o video contenuti sul server Web/HTTP, immettere l’indirizzo del server nella casella di testo e fare clic sul pulsante “File Browse” (Sfoglia file). Specificare quindi il file o la cartella desiderati nella schermata visualizzata. • È possibile specificare anche una playlist (pagina 23) se è stata creata precedentemente. Fare clic sul pulsante “List Browse” (Sfoglia playlist) e specificare la playlist desiderata nella schermata visualizzata.

Time (Ora) Time (Ora) Inserire l’ora e il giorno della settimana. Ripristino delle impostazioni predefinite Per ripristinare i valori predefiniti di tutte le impostazioni effettuate nella schermata Setup (Impostazione), tenere premuto il tasto RESET posto nella parte anteriore del pannello dell’apparecchio (pagina 5) per almeno 3 secondi utilizzando un oggetto appuntito.
Guida alla soluzione dei problemi Prima di richiedere assistenza, controllare quanto riportato di seguito. Se il problema persiste, rivolgersi ad un rivenditore Sony. Ulteriori informazioni Programmazione di riproduzione su orario Quando si crea un orario e si imposta l’esecuzione di una riproduzione programmata, è possibile che, a causa delle impostazioni dell’orario, alcuni dei file fermo immagine e video non vengano riprodotti.
