Functions that can be operated using
the buttons/dials
You can set up or operate various functions using these buttons/dials.
For the location of the buttons/dials, see “Identifying parts” (page 17).
Mode dial (67) Switches the shooting mode.
MENU button (35) Displays the menu screen for setting menu items.
MOVIE button (63) Records movies.
AEL button/ button (65) Fixes the exposure of the entire screen./Scales an image
up when viewing images.
Fn button (33)/ button

Displays the setup screen for functions set using the Fn
button. In [For viewfinder] screen, switches to the Quick
Navi screen./Displays multiple images on the screen
simultaneously.
Exposure compensation
dial
Sets the range for exposure adjustment.
button (64) Plays back images.
button (66)/C2 button Deletes images in playback mode./A frequently-used
function can be assigned for shooting mode. No function
is assigned to the button in the default settings.
C1 button A frequently-used function can be assigned. Functions
for shooting mode and playback mode can be assigned
separately. The following function is assigned to each
button in the default settings.
For shooting: ISO
For viewing: Follow Custom(Sht.)
Focus mode dial (70) Selects the focus method to suit the movement of the
subject.
Macro switching ring (62) Switches to close-up shooting mode.
Aperture ring Manually sets the aperture value (F-number).
Focusing ring Adjusts the focus manually.
FINDER switch (22) Raises the viewfinder.
