[SCREEN SETUP]
[4:3 LETTER BOX]
Choose settings according It) the TV Io be
COllllecled.
Select [SCREEN SETUP] in the Setup Display.
To use the display, see "Using the Setup
Display" (page 73).
The default settings are underlined.
SCREENSETUP
[TV TYPE]
Selects the aspect ratio of the connected TV (4:3
standard or wide).
The default setting varies, depending on the
counlry model.
[4:3 LETTER Select this when you connect a 4:3
BOX] screen TV. Displays a wide picture
wilh hands on Ihe upper and lower
portions of Ihe screen.
[4:3 PAN SCAN] Select Ihis when you connecl a 4:3
screen TV. Aulomalically displays
Ihe wide piclure on the entire
screen and cuts off the portions
Ilml do not fit.
[16:9] Select Ihis when you connect a
wide-screen TV or a TV with a
wide lIlode function.

Depending on Ihe DVD, [4:3 LETTER BOX] may be
selected i,utomatically instead of [4:3 PAN SCAN] or
vice versa.
[HDMI RESOLUTION]
Selects the type of video signals outpul fl'om the
HDMI OUT (higb-definitkm multimedia
interface out)jack. When you select [AUTO]
(default), the syslem outputs video signals of the
highest resolution acceptable for your TV.
If' the piclure is not clear, natural or to your
satisfaction, try another option that suits the disc
and your TV/projector, etc. For details, reli:r
also to the instruction manual supplied with the
TV/projector. etc.
[AUTO] Normally, select this.
[1920 x 1O8Oi*] Sends 1920x I/)S/)i video signals.
[1280 x 720p*] Sends 128(t x 720p video signals.
[720 x 480W] Sends 720 x 480p video signals.**

and the connected TV cannot accept tile resolution,
file system automatically adjusts file video signals

up, images from the S VIDEO OUT jack is enlarged
vertically. (Except when [720 x 480p] is selected.)
