Step 2 Setting the date and time Note on the time indicator The internal clock of your camcorder operates on a 24-hour cycle. Note on the auto date function You can change the AUTO DATE setting by selecting ON or OFF in the menu settings. The auto date function automatically displays the date once a day. However, the date may automatically appear more than once a day if: – you set the date and time. – you eject and insert the tape again. – you stop recording within 10 seconds.

Mosaic noise may appear when you play back standard 8 mm tape on other camcorders (including another DCR-TRV145E/TRV147E/ TRV245E/TRV250E/TRV345E/TRV355E/ TRV356E).

This is to save battery power and to prevent battery and tape wear. To resume the standby mode, set the POWER switch to OFF (CHG) once, then turn it to CAMERA again. However, your camcorder does not turn off automatically while the cassette is not inserted.
