Movies are recorded on the memory card and in XAVC S 4K format at the factory setting. 1 Press the latches on both sides of the lens cap and remove it. 2 Open the LCD monitor of the camcorder and turn the power on. The frame color is gray while the camcorder tries to focus on the subject and it turns to green when the subject is in focus.
Hint You can select the focus speed for auto focus mode during movie recording. You can select AF tracking sensitivity for auto focus mode during movie recording. You can assign [FOCUS AREA] to the ASSIGN button. When [FOCUS POSITION] is assigned to the ASSIGN button and [FOCUS AREA] is set to [FLEXIBLE SPOT] or [ZONE], you can display the area selection screen directly by pressing the button. You can set whether to display the phase detection AF area or phase detection AF frames.

Help Guide Digital 4K Video Camera Recorder FDR-AX700 Focusing on a detected face ( FACE DETECTION) The camcorder detects the face and focuses on it (the default setting is [ON]). This function is available only with auto focus. A: MENU button B: / / / /SET button 1 Press the MENU button. 2 Select (CAMERA SET) - [ FACE DETECTION] - [ ON] with the / / / /SET button. When the faces are detected, frames(*) appear. * 3 When the faces are detected, gray face-detection frames appear.
Faces may not be detected or the proper effect may not be obtained depending on the recording environment, the condition of the subject or the settings. If this happens, set [FACE DETECTION] to [OFF]. When [LOCK-ON AF] is set to [ON], the selection cursor does not appear and you cannot select priority face. The face detection function is disabled when using digital zoom, clear image zoom or NIGHTSHOT. Hint Faces within the area that is set on [FOCUS AREA] are detected and focused.
