Installation
1 Create a key file.
Create a text file that contains the software
installation key, and rename the file as shown in the
following table (the name of the key file varies with
the type of camera used).
Key file format
• You can describe multiple installation keys in a
single key file (hdc2000.key or hdc1000.key).
Invalid keys are ignored in the installation process.
• Enter only one installation key per line.
• Any description between “#” or “;” and the line
break is a comment.
Example key file
Entering multiple keys to specify the period of use
installs all the keys at the same time, and the period of
use registered is the consecutive period of all keys.
2 Copy the key file.
Create a \MSSONY\PRO\CAMERA\HDC2000 (or
\HDC1000) folder on a USB flash drive or “Memory
Stick” and copy “hdc2000.key” (or “hdc1000.key”)
to that folder.
3 Install the key file.
On an HDC2400/1700/2570/2550
Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port on the
camera and read the key file into the camera using the
<OPTION KEY> page of the MAINTENANCE
menu.
On other HDC-series cameras
Insert the “Memory Stick” into the Memory Stick slot
of the camera and read the file into the camera using
the <OPTION KEY> page of the MAINTENANCE
menu.

Operation Manual for the camera.
For HZC-UG444
For HZC-UG444M/UG444W
For HZC-UG444M/UG444W, the same key cannot
be reinstalled once it has been installed. Nor can it be
uninstalled once it has been installed.
