Message Meaning/Solution
File damaged The file you are trying to play or edit is damaged. It cannot be played or
edited on the linear PCM recorder.
No file There are no files in the selected folder.
Continue recording with
new file
The file size of the file being recorded exceeds 1 GB for an MP3 file and 2 GB
for an LPCM/DSD file. A new file is created and recording continues as a new
file.
Switch memory and
continue recording
When “Cross-Memory Recording” is set to “ON” and the current memory
becomes full, recording continues after switching the destination to the other
memory media.
Switch recording folder The Recording Folder is full. Recording continues after switching the
destination folder to another available folder.
Low battery level The remaining battery power is insufficient. You cannot erase a file or format
the memory, or perform other operations. Replace the batteries with new
ones (page 19), or connect an AC adaptor (not supplied) to the linear PCM
recorder (page 21).
No digital signal No digital signal is input from the optical cable connected to the LINE IN (OPT)
jack of the linear PCM recorder during digital recording. Check the connection.
The digital signal cannot
be copied.
A copy-protected sound source is input from the optical cable connected to
the LINE IN (OPT) jack of the linear PCM recorder during digital recording.
Recording cannot be performed.
No Track Marks There are no track marks for the selected file. You cannot execute those menu
commands to erase track marks or divide a file at all track mark positions.
Track Marks are full You cannot add another track mark as the maximum number of track marks
have already been added to the file. Erase unnecessary track marks (page
53).
Memory Card error Insert the memory card again. If this message appears again, the memory
card may have a problem. If this occurs, connect the memory card to your
computer, perform data recovery, save a backup to your computer, and then
use the linear PCM recorder to format the memory card.
Built-In Memory needs
to be formatted/Memory

The linear PCM recorder cannot operate with the built-in memory or a
memory card that has been formatted by other devices. Format the built-in
memory or the memory card using the formatting function in the Settings
menu of the linear PCM recorder. Do not use your computer to format the
built-in memory or the memory card.
File in format that does
not allow editing
You attempted to add a track mark to a file that does not support track
marks.
You attempted to divide a file that does not support division.
You attempted to add a fading in/out effect to a file that does not support
fading.
You attempted to combine files that do not support combining.
