 Lors de la lecture de données au format audio haute
résolution sur votre ordinateur avec l’appareil, utilisez le
logiciel de lecture audio, « Hi-Res Audio Player », compatible
avec les données au format audio haute résolution.
Si «Hi-Res Audio Player» n’est pas installé, installez-le sur
votre ordinateur. Visitez le site Web suivant et installez le
logiciel.

 Si l’ordinateur est passé en mode de veille ou de mise en
veille prolongée pendant la lecture de la musique à l’aide du
logiciel de lecture audio, redémarrez le logiciel de lecture
audio.

 Pour Macintosh
Cliquez sur le menu [Apple], sélectionnez [Préférences
Système], [Son], l’onglet [Sortie], puis sélectionnez [Sony
Headphone Amplifier(PHA-1A)] dans [Sélectionnez un
périphérique de sortie audio].
 La commande de volume de votre ordinateur ou du logiciel
de lecture audio est réglée de façon à atténuer le son.
Annulez le réglage.
 Le lecteur de CD-ROM ne prend pas en charge la fonction de
reproduction numérique. Utilisez un lecteur de CD-ROM
prenant en charge la fonction de reproduction numérique.
 Le son d’une diffusion numérique pourrait ne pas être émis à
partir du port USB d’un ordinateur.
Le pilote logiciel pour Windows ne peut pas être installé sur
un ordinateur Windows.
 L’appareil doit être raccordé à votre ordinateur Windows à un
certain moment pendant l’installation du pilote logiciel.
Dans ce cas, raccordez l’ordinateur Windows au port INPUT
de raccordement pour ordinateur/WALKMAN®/Xperia de
l’appareil à l’aide du câble micro-USB (fourni).
Pour plus de détails sur le raccordement, reportez-vous à
l’illustration de « Ordinateur » à l’étape 2 du Guide de
démarrage.
Son faible
 Augmentez le volume du périphérique raccordé.
 Augmentez le volume de l’appareil.
 Lors de l’utilisation d’un casque d’écoute à impédance
élevée, réglez le sélecteur GAIN à HIGH.
 Utilisez un casque d’écoute muni d’une mini-fiche stéréo.
L’appareil prend en charge uniquement les casques d’écoute
munis d’une mini-fiche stéréo. Si vous utilisez un casque
d’écoute/casque avec télécommande ou microphone, le son
pourrait être faible ou inaudible.
L’appareil ne s’allume pas.
 Chargez la batterie de l’appareil.
 Lorsque l’autonomie de la batterie est réduite de moitié, la
batterie approche la fin de sa durée de vie. Consultez votre
détaillant Sony le plus proche pour la remplacer.
Même si la commande d’alimentation est dans la position
activée, le témoin POWER/CHG (charge) s’allume en rouge.
 Lorsque l’appareil est utilisé pendant une longue durée et
que la batterie devient faible, si vous raccordez le port DC IN
V5 de l’appareil à un ordinateur ou autre périphérique, le
témoin POWER/CHG (charge) s’allume en rouge. Il n’est pas
possible de mettre l’appareil en marche. En pareil cas,
éteignez l’appareil, puis rallumez-le. Le témoin POWER/CHG
(charge) s’allume en vert et l’appareil est mis en marche.
La batterie n’est pas chargée.
 Vérifiez que l’appareil et votre ordinateur sont raccordés
correctement à l’aide du câble micro-USB (fourni).
 Vérifiez que l’ordinateur est allumé et qu’il n’est pas en mode
de veille ou de mise en veille prolongée.
 Vérifiez que l’appareil et l’ordinateur sont directement
raccordés, sans concentrateur USB.
 Effectuez de nouveau la procédure de connexion USB si le
problème n’est pas provoqué par l’une des causes ci-dessus.
 Le port USB de l’ordinateur raccordé pourrait présenter un
problème. Raccordez l’appareil à un autre port USB de
l’ordinateur, si possible.
 Un adaptateurCA USB non recommandé est utilisé.
 La batterie est entièrement chargée.
Lorsque la batterie est entièrement chargée, le témoin
POWER/CHG (charge) peut clignoter et s’éteindre pour
indiquer que la charge ne peut pas démarrer. Il ne s’agit pas
d’un problème de fonctionnement.
 Si l’appareil n’est pas utilisé pendant une longue durée, le
témoin POWER/CHG (charge) pourrait prendre un moment à

s’allume en rouge.
La durée de charge est trop longue.
 Vérifiez que l’appareil et l’ordinateur sont directement
raccordés, sans concentrateur USB.
 Le câble fourni n’est pas utilisé.
 Un adaptateurCA USB non recommandé est utilisé.
Du bruit est généré.
 Éloignez l’ordinateur de l’appareil.
 Redémarrez le logiciel de lecture audio.
 Éteignez le périphérique audio raccordé, puis rallumez-le.
Le son est interrompu lors du raccordement à l’ordinateur.
 Le processeur de votre ordinateur est surchargé. Fermez les
autres applications.
 D’autres périphériques USB sont raccordés à votre ordinateur
et utilisés simultanément. Cessez d’utiliser les autres
périphériques USB.

Troubleshooting
If you run into any problems using this unit, use the following
checklist and read the product support information on our
website. Should any problem persist, consult your nearest Sony
dealer.
The unit may become warm during use. This is not a
malfunction.
No sound
 This unit is digital input exclusive. Analog input is not
supported.
 Check that the unit and the audio device are connected
correctly.
 Check that the connected device is turned on.
 Check that the unit is turned on.
 If the POWER/CHG (charge) indicator does not light up,
charge the battery.
 Turn up the volume of the connected device.
 Turn up the volume of the unit.
 Connect the headphone plug firmly to the unit.
 Check that the connected headphones have a 3-pole stereo
mini plug.
The unit supports only a 3-pole stereo mini plug. Do not
connect other plugs. It may cause a malfunction.
When connected to a computer, there is no sound or the
sound is not played back properly.
 The computer does not recognize the unit as a USB device.
Restart your computer.
Install the driver software for Windows “Sony USB Device
Driver” on your Windows computer. Visit the following
website, and install the software.

 Turn up the volume of your computer or software.
 If the unit was connected to the computer while using audio
playback software, restart the audio playback software.
 When playing High-Resolution Audio format data on your
computer with the unit, use the audio playback software,
“Hi-Res Audio Player,” compatible with the High-Resolution
Audio format data.
When “Hi-Res Audio Player” is not installed, install it on your
computer. Visit the following website, and install the
software.

 If the computer enters standby, sleep or hibernation mode,
while the music is played back by using the audio playback
software, restart the audio playback software.
 Check that the sound device settings of your computer are
correct.
 For Windows 8/8.1
Press and hold the [Windows] and [X] keys to display the
menu, select [Control Panel], [Hardware and Sound],
[Sound], [Playback] tab, select [Sony Headphone
Amplifier(PHA-1A)] for the playback device, then click [Set
default].
 For Windows 7/Windows Vista
Click the [Start] menu, select [Control Panel], [Hardware and
Sound], [Sound], [Playback] tab, select [Sony Headphone
Amplifier(PHA-1A)] for the playback device, then click [Set
default].
 For Macintosh
Click the [Apple] menu, select [System Preferences],
[Sound], [Output] tab, then select [Sony Headphone
Amplifier(PHA-1A)] for [Select a device for sound output].
 The volume control of your computer or the audio playback
software is set to suppress the sound. Cancel the setting.
 The CD-ROM drive does not support the digital reproduction
function. Use a CD-ROM drive that supports the digital
reproduction function.
 Digitally broadcast sound may not be output from a
computer’s USB port.
The driver software for Windows cannot be installed onto a
Windows computer.
 The unit needs to be connected to your Windows computer
at a certain point while installing the driver software.
In this case, connect the Windows computer to the
computer/WALKMAN®/Xperia connection INPUT port of the
unit using the micro-USB cable (supplied).
For details concerning connection, refer to the illustration of
“Computer” in step 2 of the Startup Guide.
Low sound
 Turn up the volume of the connected device.
 Turn up the volume of the unit.
 When using high-impedance headphones, set the GAIN
select switch to HIGH.
 Use headphones that have a stereo mini plug. The unit only
supports headphones that have a stereo mini plug. If you use
headphones/headset with a remote control or microphone,
there may be low sound or no sound.
The unit does not turn on.
 Charge the battery of the unit.
 When battery life reduces to half, the battery is approaching
the end of its service life. Consult your nearest Sony dealer
for replacement.
Even though the power tab is in the on position, the POWER/
CHG (charge) indicator lights up in red.
 When the unit is used over a long time and the remaining
battery power becomes low, if you connect the DC IN V5 port
of the unit to a computer or other device, the POWER/CHG
(charge) indicator lights up in red. The unit cannot be turned
on. In this case, turn off the power of the unit and turn on it
again. The POWER/CHG (charge) indicator lights up in green
and the unit turns on.
The battery cannot be charged.
 Check that the unit and your computer are firmly connected
using the micro-USB cable (supplied).
 Check that the computer is turned on and not in standby,
sleep or hibernation mode.
 Check that the unit and the computer are directly connected,
not via a USB hub.
 Try the USB connection procedure again in cases other than
those stated above.
 The USB port of the connected computer may have a
problem. Connect the unit to another USB port of the
computer if available.
 A USB AC adaptor that is not recommended is being used.
 The battery is fully charged.
If the battery is fully charged, the POWER/CHG (charge)
indicator may blink and go off, and charging may not start.
This is not a malfunction.
 If the unit is not used for a long time, the POWER/CHG
(charge) indicator may take a while to light up red when you
connect it to your computer. In this case, do not disconnect
the micro-USB cable from the unit, and wait until the POWER/
CHG (charge) indicator lights up red.
Charging time is too long.
 Check that the unit and the computer are directly connected,
not via a USB hub.
 A cable which is not supplied is used.
 A USB AC adaptor that is not recommended is being used.
Noise is generated.
 Keep the computer away from the unit.
 Restart the audio playback software.
 Turn off the connected audio device, then turn it on again.
Sound is interrupted when connecting to the computer.
 The CPU of your computer is overloaded. Close other
applications.
 Other USB devices are connected to your computer and
being used simultaneously. Quit operating other USB devices.
The remote control of the headset does not work.
 Remote control operation is not supported by this unit.
The microphone of the headset does not work.
 Headset microphones are not supported by this unit.

Depending on the Apple product, there may be significant
electric power required when starting the communication
connected with the unit. The battery power of the unit may be
drained and the unit may turn off if you connect the Apple
product to the unit when the battery power is low. In this case,
charge the unit or use the USB AC adaptor to connect with the
Apple product.

Precautions
On Safety

When you carry the unit and the audio device connected with the
connecting cable, make sure not to apply the external force as it may cause
a malfunction.

Do not put weight or pressure on this unit as it may cause the unit to
deform during long storage.

Do not drop the unit or subject it to external shock, as it may cause a
malfunction.

Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth.
ˎ
If there is noise while listening to the radio, etc., move the unit farther away
from the connected device.

Do not expose the unit to water. The unit is not waterproof.
Remember to follow the precautions below.

Note on static electricity
When using the headphones in particularly dry air conditions, mild tingling
may be felt on your ears. This is a result of static electricity accumulated in the
body, and not a malfunction of the headphones.
The effect can be minimized by wearing clothes made from natural materials.
On charging

This unit uses USB charging exclusively. To charge the unit, it is necessary to
use a computer which has a USB port, or the USB AC adaptor AC-UD10 (sold
separately).

You can use the unit while it is connected to the computer or AC power
source. In this case, depending on the usage environment, it may take time
to charge or charging may not be available.

When the unit is stored for a long period, to prevent excessive discharge,
charge the unit every six months or so.

Dépannage

L’appareil peut devenir chaud pendant l’utilisation. Il ne s’agit

Aucun son
 Cet appareil utilise exclusivement une entrée numérique. Une
entrée analogique n’est pas prise en charge.
 Vérifiez que l’appareil et le périphérique audio sont raccordés
correctement.
 Vérifiez que le périphérique raccordé est allumé.
 Vérifiez que l’appareil est allumé.
 Si le témoin POWER/CHG (charge) ne s’allume pas, chargez la
batterie.
 Augmentez le volume du périphérique raccordé.
 Augmentez le volume de l’appareil.
 Connectez la fiche du casque d’écoute fermement à
l’appareil.
 Vérifiez que le casque d’écoute raccordé est muni d’une
mini-fiche stéréo à 3 pôles.
L’appareil prend uniquement en charge une mini-fiche stéréo
à 3 pôles. Ne raccordez pas d’autres fiches. Cela pourrait
causer un problème de fonctionnement.
Lors du raccordement à un ordinateur, il n’y a aucun son ou le
son n’est pas reproduit correctement.
 L’ordinateur ne reconnaît pas l’appareil en tant que
périphérique USB. Redémarrez votre ordinateur.
Installez le pilote logiciel pour Windows «Sony USB Device
Driver» sur votre ordinateur Windows. Visitez le site Web
suivant et installez le logiciel.

 Augmentez le volume de votre ordinateur ou logiciel.
 Si l’appareil a été raccordé à l’ordinateur pendant l’utilisation
d’un logiciel de lecture audio, redémarrez le logiciel de
