Switching the mode of the DTS decoder (Neural:X)
You can switch the DTS decoder to “Direct Mode” or “Non-Direct Mode.”
When in “Direct Mode,” the audio is extracted and reproduced as closely as possible to what the content creator
intended. When in “Non-Direct Mode,” the audio is extracted and adapted to fit as closely as possible to the
speaker layout of the playback system (regardless of the source configuration). This function only works when
the DTS stream is input.
Note
You cannot set this function to [Off] when [Neural:X] is selected.
You cannot set this function to [On] in the following cases:
[2ch Stereo], [Direct] or [Dolby Surround] is selected.
[Pure Direct] is set to [On].

Up-converting video signals to 4K (4K Scaling)
You can up-convert video signals to 4K and output them through the HDMI OUT A jack of the receiver.
Select [Setup] - [Audio Setup] from the home menu.

Select [Neural:X].

Select the setting you want.
On: The DTS decoder is switched to “Non-Direct Mode.”
Off: The DTS decoder is switched to “Direct Mode.”

Select [Setup] - [HDMI Setup] from the home menu.

Select [4K Scaling].

Select the setting you want.
Auto: Enables video scaling control of 4K HDMI output automatically if you connect a 4K-compatible
TV.
Off: Only upscales video signals from VIDEO IN, COMPONENT VIDEO IN jacks up to 1080p.
