ENGLISH Power failure backup batteries • In the event of a power failure, settings (e.g. the time) will be deleted. To prevent this from happening, the device has power failure protection batteries. • Open the battery compartment (24) on the back of the device and insert two 1.5V, type AAA/UM-4 batteries. These batteries are not included. • When doing so, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) as shown by the markings. • Close the battery compartment.

ENGLISH Display lighting • You can set the brightness of the display panel by means of the DIMMER switch (19) on the back of the device. • The panel is brightly lit, when the switch is in the BRIGHT position. In the DIM position, the display panel will fade. Antennas • For FM reception, this device is equipped with a FM wire antenna (26). Unwind the FM wire antenna and lay it out. Operating the radio • Slide the FUNCTION switch (22) on the device to AM or FM.
ENGLISH Setting the alarm • You can set a time to wake up at which the device will come on either in the radio or CD mode. Or you can be awakened by an alarm signal. You can save two wake-up times in total. • Press the ALARM1 (15) or the ALARM2 (14) button. The time digits will blink in the display. • Set the wake up time with the /MINUTE (12) and /HOUR (11) buttons and confirm it by pressing either the ALARM1 or ALARM2 button. • The LED indicator AL.1 (J) or AL.2 (I) will light up.
ENGLISH Playing mode • Switch the device into playback mode and insert an audio CD as as previously described. • In the display (7), the total number of tracks on the CD will be shown for 2 seconds. The display will change to indicate the time. Press the DISPLAY button (5) to display the total number of tracks again for 2 seconds. • If the CD is being played, you can use the DISPLAY button to show the current played track number (approx. 2 seconds).
ENGLISH Deleting a playback list • While in stop mode, press the PROGRAM button (9). The programmed track number and LED indicator PROGRAM (G) will blink in the display (7). • Now hold the button (13) down for approx. 3 seconds. The time will be shown in the display. This means that the playback list has been deleted.
