6 BNO080 Characteristics
This section describes the electrical and performance characteristics of the BNO080. The BNO080 is a custom
part that Hillcrest provides based upon the Bosch Sensortec BMF055. All of the BNO080 I/O pins meet CMOS
and TTL requirements.
Note that the electrical and mechanical sections of the specification reported here are reproduced from the Bosch
Sensortec BMF055 datasheet. The data in this section is reported for convenience, the reader is encouraged to
consult the BMF055 datasheet [5] to verify all parameters.

6.3 Power Management
The BNO080 has two distinct power supply pins:
• V
DD
is the main power supply for the internal sensors
• V
DDIO
is the power supply pin used for the supply of the internal microcontroller and the digital interfaces.
For the switching sequence of power supply V
DD
and V
DDIO,
it is mandatory that V
DD
is powered on and driven to
the specified level before or at the same time as V
DDIO
is powered ON. Otherwise there are no limitations on the
voltage levels of both pins relative to each other, as long as they are used within the specified operating range.
The reader is encouraged to read sections 1 and 3.2 of the BMF055 [5] datasheet for more information.
