WIND DIRECTIONAL CAP
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Maintenance instructions must be followed for Warranty compliance.
The Wind Directional Cap Hood cannot be assembled incorrectly, due to the varied
bolt size on the mounting plate. Unscrew the wing nuts and position the Hood on the
flat portion of the Spindle, insert the threaded rod ends throught the holes and tighten
wing nuts with pliers. **Some models have a metal tab that must be bent around the
Spindle to secure the top cap into place.
Be sure that the cap base is level and then sheet metal screw it into place in order
tp provide you with the un-restricted swing action necessary for proper function.
Most Wind Directional Caps will not require maintenance under most conditions but
there are some conditions that could create a need for periodic service. If the Wind
Directional cap becomes sluggish or in a fixed position add a small amount of grease
utilizing the provided Zerk grease service fitting.
USE ONLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE RATED AT 450 DEGREES F or HIGHER.
High temperature grease can be found at most automotive repair or supply stores.
