TAIL CURVE
Helicopters without a heading hold gyro will experience inconsistent tail performance. When
throttle is applied, the tail will swing one way and then another with reduced power. Tail curves
are used to compensate for torque at various points in the throttle range. Tail curves are
commonly tied to ight modes and tuned to match each mode after the pitch and throttle curves
are set. The tail curve mix is not required with most modern helicopter ight control systems.
