NOTE: Alkaline type solutions may cause
damage to machined surfaces and should be avoided.
3. Stake pilot bearing in nine places using a center
punch or equivalent tool. See Figure 13.
4. Press inner and outer bearing cups into the carrier
until seated. Use a feeler gauge (.0015 inch) to
make sure that bearing cups are fully seated in
bearing bores. Apply hypoid gear lubricant to both
cup and cone. See Figure 14.
