Tieoneligaturearoundtheleganddonottie tothesofttissue.Verifythattheshortend
oftheanchorentersintotheligament.
PRECAUTION:Failuretopushthe short endofthesofttissueanchorintotheligamentor
fasciamayresultinleadmigrationandaproceduretorevisetheleadlocation.
4. It is recommended that the lead position is verified under fluoroscopy and desired
paresthesia be retested after fixation.With the external TNS amplitude set to 0 µA,
reconnecttheConnec tor Cableasdescribedbefor e.
PercutaneousExtensionTunnelingImplantLeadTrialOnly
1. Identifythetunnelingroutebetw eentheleadincisionandtheextensionexitsite.
2. Administeranestheticattheexitsiteandalongthetunnelingroute.
3. Assemblethetunnelingtoolpackagedwiththeleadbyslippingthepassi ngstrawoverthe
tunnelingrod,thenattachingthetunnelingtip.
4. Bend the tunneling tool as necessary to conform to the patient’s contour along the
tunnelingroute.
5. Makeastabwoundattheexitsite.
6. Beginattheexitsiteandtunnelsubcutaneouslytotheleadincision
7. Guide the tunneling tool subcutaneously along the tunneling route by pushing the
skin
overthe advancingtool tip until the tipand approximately1 cm of the passing straw are
exposedattheleadincision.
8. Withdrawthetunnelingtool leavingthepassingstrawinplaceinthetunnel.
9. Gentlyinserttheproximalendoftheextensionthroughthepassingstraw totheexitsite.
