Thermal Fuse Troubleshooting
If the “Service required” indicator lights, check the motor. Is it hot?
If the motor is not hot, and the indicator lights, check the fuse wire and its connections. Replace the
thermal fuse if wires and connections are good but the indicator lights when the motor is cool.
If the motor is hot, inspect the deck and belt. Worn decks and belts produce friction, which causes the
motor to draw more current and heat up. A walk belt that is too loose or too tight can cause more friction
too. Replace belts and decks if necessary. The deck is two-sided and can be flipped.
After taking action, let the motor cool for 30 minutes before starting up again.
