WhatsApp
ENABLING WHATSAPP SUPPORT
Perform the following steps to enable WhatsApp
1. Connect your iPhone or Android phone to the Sat-Fi2 RAS Wi-Fi
2. Open a web browser
3. In the address bar enter: 192.168.0.1
4. A Globalstar Sat-Fi2 login screen will be displayed
• In the Username field, enter the Admin Username (Default is admin)
• In the Password field, enter the password (Default is admin)
• Select the Login button
5. The Sat-Fi2 Web Console screen will be displayed
6. On the Web Console Menu screen, select
7. The Firewall screen will be displayed, select the Apps tab
8. Check the box next to the disclaimer shown on the screen
9. Select Save
10. WhatsApp is now enabled
There are certain limitations to the WhatsApp features while connected to the Sat-Fi2 RAS:
FEATURE DOES WORK WITH SAT-FI2 RAS:
• Texting
• Read receipts
• Share location
• Share contacts
• Broadcast texting (group text)
LIMITATIONS OF FEATURE:
• Attachments such as video, photos and documents: User can send from Sat-Fi2 RAS but cannot receive.
Be aware that large attachments may be very slow to transfer and will incur data charges according to your
subscription.
• Photo attachments: User can only see the preview but will not be able to download the full version.
• Calls and texts background notifications: Android and iOS users can intermittently receive notifications, but not
all the time.
FEATURE DOES NOT WORK WITH SAT-FI2 RAS:
• Audio messages
• Status (Presence: available/away/etc.)
• Posting photos to status
• Posting messages to status
• Calling: Call set up starts on both ends, but call does not go through
• Video calling
• Sending stickers: If the user does not already own the stickers they will not appear. Instead, they will show up
as a failed downloaded picture.
• Composing a written status update
