Dear customer: Thank you for buying this upright freezer. To ensure that you get the best results from your new freezer, please take time to read through the simple instructions in this booklet. Please ensure that the packing material is disposed of in accordance with the current environmental requirements. When disposing of any upright freezer equipment please contact your local waste disposal department for advice on safe disposal. This appliance must be only used for its intended purpose.
UNPACKING YOUR UPRIGHT FREEZER WARNING: Use two or more people to move upright freezer. Failure to do so can result in back or other injury. • Remove tape and any labels from your upright freezer before using (except the rating label). • Any tape or glue residue can be removed by rubbing the area briskly with your thumb. Or rub the area with a small amount of liquid dish sop, wipe with warm water and dry.
SPACE REQUIREMENTS WARNING: Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away form upright freezer. Failure to do so can result in death, explosion, fine or burns. • To ensure proper ventilation for your upright freezer, allow a minimum clearance of 8 inches on the sides, 4 inches at the back and 12 inches at the top of the unit. • If you are installing your upright freezer next to a fixed wall, leave sufficient space on the hinge side to allow for the door to swing open.
NOTE: Before performing any type of installation, disconnect the upright freezer from the electrical source. When you are finished, connect the upright freezer to the electrical source and reset the control to the desired setting. LEVELING If the upright freezer is not leveled, the doors may not close or seal properly, which may lead to cooling, frost, or moisture problems. It is very important the upright freezer is leveled in order to function properly.
Storing Frozen Food When using the freezer for the first time or after defrosting, turn the temperature control to set “6” for at least two hours before introducing food to be stored. All frozen food products you purchase should be placed in the freezer as soon as possible to avoid frozen food from defrosting. Storage recommendation printed on the packaging of frozen food by the manufacturers should be always be followed. Be careful the drawers do not mangle the refrigeration pipeline.
Cleaning your freezer Before cleaning the freezer, remove the power plug from the power supply and allow the unit to defrost as described under the DEFROSTNG section. Use a clean sponge or soft towel and a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners. Hand wash, rinse and dry all surfaces thoroughly. Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing petroleum on plastics and rubber parts.
1. Remove the bracket from the bottom of the unit. Remove the two screws from the bottom bracket. Remove the foot from opposite side. 2. Self-Tapping Screws/Bottom Bracket/Foot, place to one side. 3. Slide the door downwards, away from the hinge pin located on the top of the door. 4. Remove the plastic cover from door hinge. Unscrew the two screws from top bracket and transfer to the other side. 5. Install the top bracket with the two screws. Slide the door back onto the top hinge.
6. Screw the bottom hinge into place on the new side. Replace the foot to the other side. 7. Check the door is aligned horizontally and vertically and the seals are closed on all sides before finally tightening the bottom hinge. Re-adjust the leveling feet. PROLONGED OFF PERIODS If the freezer is not to be used for a long period of time, proceed as follows: Disconnect the freezer from the main supply by removing the plug from the wall socket.
TROUBLESHOOTING In case of malfunction, you can solve many common problems easily. Your upright freezer will not operate…Check if -- The power supply cord is unplugged. The doors will not close completely…Check if -- The drawers are out of position. -- The gaskets are dirty. -- The freezer is not level. The freezer is noisy when running…Check if -- Check the freezer is level and it is not in contact with another appliance or kitchen furniture.
1) WARNING – Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction. 2) WARNING – Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer. 3) WARNING – Do not damage the refrigerant circuit. 4) WARNING – Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
Your Guarantee If this product is found to be faulty as a result of faulty materials or workmanship within one year from date of purchase, it will be repaired free of charge. This guarantee is subject to the following terms: • Sunpentown must be notified of the fault. • Proof of purchase must be presented to Sunpentown’s nominated representative. • The warranty will be void if the product if modified, misused or repaired by an unauthorized person.
