AUTO EXPOSURE AND WHITE BALANCE LOCKS
The Auto Exposure Lock (AEL) and Auto White Balance Lock (AWBL) are advanced
functions whose functionality is disabled by default. You must enable one or both from
the Advanced Settings menu while the camera is connected to your computer. AWBL
functionality requires that the White Balance parameter be set to ‘Auto’. AE/AWB can be
locked while the camera is either in standby mode or recording mode.
To turn on AEL/AWBL point the camera at the object you want to correctly expose and then
set the lock as follows:
•
If the camera is in Standby mode or recording, briefly press the Power button until an
additional LED (yellow or blue, depending on which mode the camera is in) turns on.
This indicates that AEL and/or AWBL is turned on.
•
If the camera is in Standby mode or recording, briefly press the Power button until the
additional LED (yellow or blue, depending on which mode the camera is in) turns off.
This indicates that AEL and/or AWBL has been turned off.
•
AEL/AWBL will remain active until they are manually turned off, another Mode is
selected, or you turn off the camera.
•
An additional icon will be displayed on the external monitor if connected and the On-
Screen Display (OSD) is turned on.
