START/STOP VIDEO RECORDING
With the camera in standby mode, press the shutter button to start recording. Press it to
stop recording. The date/time setting will likely be incorrect until you set up the camera
from your computer. See below.
SWITCHING MODES TO TAKE A PHOTO
The mode button lets you switch between different modes (indicated by different colors
on the LED ring around the power button) depending on what you want to do. Each button
press advances the camera to the next mode. From standby mode, press the mode button
until the circular LED changes from yellow and cycles past blue to get to red to indicate
Photo Mode. Press the shutter button to snap a photo. You’ll hear a click and the LED will
blink. To turn off Photo mode, you can either turn off the camera or press the Mode button
until the circular LED is back to yellow.
VIDEO MODE 1 OR 2
The yellow standby mode puts the camera in its default (1080p) video recording mode, so
that when you press the shutter button, the camera starts recording. This is Video Mode
1. But if you press the mode button first, the ring will change to blue, indicating a second
video resolution/frame rate you can preset. This is Video Mode 2. To configure the video
mode and other settings, see the section about the mSetup software below.
