STAINMASTER® CARPET
WARRANTY
PROGRAM
When STAINMASTER® carpet cushion is purchased
and installed with STAINMASTER® carpet, an
additional three years will be added to the Lowe’s
Extended Warranty.
Limited Stain & Soil Resistance Warranties
Warranty service is limited to stains caused by all
common food, beverage substances or pet urine, and
soiling as a result of foot trac from normal, indoor
household use. If, within the term of your warranty,
your carpet becomes stained by a food, beverage
spill, pet urine or soiled and you cannot remove
the stain or soil using the recommended cleaning
procedures in the Lowe’s Carpet Care Guide, contact
the appropriate manufacturer for assistance.
If the stain or soil cannot be removed, Lowe’s will
provide a comparable replacement carpet for the
aected area only (and adjacent areas extending to
the nearest wall, doorway or entrance) with identical
carpet, or carpet of comparable cost.
If replacement is authorized, you will not be
responsible for paying for labor and disposal costs
for the carpet. All replacements must be completed
within six months of the first report of the stain to the
appropriate manufacturer. Replacement cushion is
not included.
In some instances, non-permanent stains may
reappear after removal due to wicking or residual re-
soiling. Warranty coverage for these non-permanent
stains is limited to stain removal assistance from
the appropriate manufacturer, and if necessary, a
maximum of two (2) professional cleaner visits.
The obligation of Lowe’s under this limited stain and
soil warranty shall be limited to coordinating stain
or soil removal service, and if the stain or soil cannot
be removed, coordinate carpet replacement. This
is not a cleaning contract and specifically excludes
discoloration due to fading and improper cleaning.
Limited Abrasive Wear Warranty
If, within the warranted period, the surface pile of
your Lowe’s carpet when compared to non-trac
areas loses more than 10% of its weight, Lowe’s will
coordinate replacement of your carpet of comparable
cost for the aected area only (and adjacent areas
extending to the nearest wall, doorway or entrance)

per the General Terms and Conditions stated in this
warranty booklet. The weight loss is measured by
comparison to non-trac areas. If replacement is
authorized, you will not be responsible for paying the
labor and disposal costs for carpet. All replacements
must be completed within six months of the first
report of the stain to the appropriate manufacturer.
Replacement cushion is not included.
Limited Texture Retention Warranty
For the term of your warranty, your Lowe’s carpet,
under normal use, will retain its texture retention
without the tufts losing twist from ordinary foot
trac. Texture retention is the ability of the carpet
tufts to retain their visible shape, as measured by
the degree of bursting, opening or untwisting of the
tufts at the surface of the carpet and is measured by
using an international standardized rating scale (CRI
TM-101) ranging from 5.0 (new or no change) to 1.0
(severe change).
If your Lowe’s carpet fails to perform as warranted,
Lowe’s will coordinate replacement with carpet
of comparable cost for the aect area only (and
adjacent areas extending to the nearest wall,
doorway or entrance) per the General Terms and
Conditions stated in this warranty booklet. If
replacement is authorized, you will not be responsible
for paying for labor and disposal costs for the
carpet. All replacements must be completed within
six months of the first report of the problem to the
appropriate manufacturer. Replacement cushion is
not included.
Carpet installed indoors or in areas subject to other
than ordinary foot trac is specifically excluded
from this warranty, as is carpet that is damaged
by improper installation and/or improper cleaning
methods and materials.
Limited Fade Resistance Warranty
Fade resistance coverage is prorated after the 10th
year based on the date of purchase.
INVISTA warrants that with proper care and
maintenance, your STAINMASTER® carpet with
SolarMax
™
Fiber will not fade from exposure to
sunlight or atmospheric contaminants (i.e., Ozone or
Oxides of Nitrogen). This warranty coverage applies
to indoor carpet installations only.
If the noticeable color change due to sunlight or
atmospheric contaminants exceeds the AATCC Gray
Scale* criterion, Lowe’s will coordinate the repair
or replacement of the aected area of your carpet
and will handle such claims per the Terms and
Conditions stated in this warranty booklet. If the
identical carpet is not available, a STAINMASTER®
carpet of comparable style, quality, color and value,
