Starting the Engine
I DANGER I
DANGER: Exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide, a
colorless and odorless gas. Breathing exhaust can cause loss
of consciousness and may lead to death. Do not operate the
engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon
monoxide fumes can collect.
NOTE: Be sure to add fresh unleaded gasoline and fill the engine
to the proper level with manufacturers recommended motor oil
before starting your mower.
1. Make sure the shut off valve, located at the bottom of the
tank, is in the ON position.

Make sure the brake is set and the 2 control handles are
spread open into their neutral position.
Make sure the blade control lever is in the OFFposition.
4. Pull CHOKEand set the throttle to its mid-point.
5. Turn the key clockwise to the START position and allow it to
return to the ON position when the engine starts.
6. When the engine starts to run and the key returns to the ON
position, push CHOKEoff.
