Generator Foot Assembly Models: G2250S & G3250S Approximate assembly time is 5 minutes. Supplied with your generator: Install four foot assemblies with 10 mm nuts. Insert each foot assembly through holes in the frame. Tighten nuts with 10mm wrench or socket. Models: G2250S & G3250S Controls WARNING The engine was shipped without engine oil. DO NOT START THE ENGINE WITHOUT FILLING THE ENGINE WITH OIL. Use SAE 10W30 for normal conditions and SAE 5W-30 when the ambient temperature is below 32° F. Recoil Starter To start the engine, pull the starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly. NOTICE: Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine. Return it gently to prevent damage to the starter.

Operating the Generator DANGER CARBON MONOXIDE GAS Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide (CO). This is a poison you cannot see or smell. If you can smell the generator exhaust, you are breathing CO. But even if you cannot smell the exhaust, you could be breathing CO. Models: G2250S & G3250S Step 1. Ensure all electrical loads are removed from the generator. Disconnect all the extension cords. Remove all flammable materials and debris from the area.

Models: G2250S & G3250S Operating the Generator Step 4. Depress the primer bulb three to five time s. See page 8 for a diagram of the primer. Step 5. Turn the generator ON/OFF switch to the “ON” position. Step 6. Start the engine—pull slightly on the cord until you feel some pressure. Once you feel the back-pressure building, rapidly pull the cord. Step 7. Let the generator warm up for approximately 3 minutes before applying any electrical loads. Step 8.

Models: G2250S & G3250S Maintenance MAINTENANCE The Importance of Maintenance Good maintenance is essential for safe, economical, and trouble-free operation. It will also help reduce air pollution. To help you properly care for your generator, the following pages include a maintenance schedule, routine inspection procedures, and simple maintenance procedures using basic hand tools.

Models: G2250S & G3250S Maintenance 4. 5. 6. 7. DANGER Visually inspect the spark plug. Discard it if the insulator is cracked, chipped or fouled. Measure the plug gap with a feeler gauge. Correct as necessary by carefully bending the side electrode. The gap should be: 0.028 to 0.031 in (0.70 to 0.80 mm) Contact with a hot engine or exhaust system can cause serious burns or fires. Let the engine cool before transporting or storing the generator.

Troubleshooting Symptom: Engine won't start Models: G2250S & G3250S Potential Causes Fuel valve off/out of fuel Engine Switch in off position Spark arrestor clogged Cold engine needs to be primed Solution Fill tank with fuel and turn fuel valve on Turn engine switch to on position Remove spark arrestor, clean and replace. Press primer bulb 3 to 5 times. Oil level too low Fill oil to top of opening with recommended grade of oil. Check for fuel flow to carburetor by removing drain screw.

Over loading generator Disconnect some appliances / devices Air filter is dirty Clean air filter Fuel filter is clogged Contaminates will clog filter, not allowing fuel to get to engine Check for fuel flow to carburetor by removing drain screw. Clean or replace fuel filter. Drain fuel tank and carburetor.
